Draft Day Menu

Well I am late to the party, but just finished watching the draft for Thursday. Sadly I am eating leftovers which insist of Italian meatballs smothered in Sweet Baby Rays BBQ and chasing it down with Benchmark Full Proof. Didn't really need the 125 proof as the draft was better than I thought, but the missing piece at MLB and our next pick late in the 3rd round has me thinking I should have saved my bourbon for day 2.
Really hoping we trade our 3rd round plus to get us Brooks from Miami, because I feel we will be hard pressed to find a starting MLB in the late 3rd round that can wear the green dot.. I guess there is a chance to get Wagner seeing the Commode's got Styles at pick 7.
I do like a few 3rd round CB prospects though. We shall see what falls to us unless we trade up with our new found 4th rounders.

Regardless, tomorrow there will be a pot of beef stew awaiting me. Already set it up to slow cook while I am at work. Chances are only my son and myself will partake of the second pot, seeing I diced up 3 reapers to slow cook in the sauce.
I'm sure everyone else will enjoy the non spicy version, but what do you do on a budget? Wing prices are killer right now in WV.

Anyhow I hope the Cowboys do well on day 2 and 3 and continue their year of good draft choices. Looking forward to some good CB, LB, and OT prospects. While asking for a better TE might be too much to ask for, who knows, we might find that and a better pass catching RB if Blue is still suffering from his designer shoes. LOL
Would love to see Dak get all the weapons he can get. Seems the only way he can excel past the first round of the playoffs will be with a pro bowl caliber offense.
He has done great as a late 4th round QB, but he needs the team to make him greater, not the other way around. While the defense let him down last year, I have a feeling with the easier schedule this year and a revamped defense, we shall see if he can muster a better offering this year.
With 2 pro bowl WR's and a 1000 yard rusher, we should again be a high scoring offense. With a defense that can keep the score competitive, there should be no more excuses. Here's hoping for a new outcome.

Go Cowboys!!!

One thing I have learned from these threads. People from TX know how to eat! It's always great sounding stuff on gameday menus for people in TX. Thanks again Ranching! I find this topic to always be a great read and a nice break from the norm.

I started this thread, years ago, to honor my mother. Every Sunday, she prepared a special feast. I was the youngest and the only one that watched football....the two go hand in hand with me. A couple of years ago, I was benched and my posting privileges were taken away. Many guys reached out, I reached out to @Reality and he made an exception. I appreciate him for that.

it is a really good topic for gameday/ day 1 of the draft etc. I truly enjoy it. I know we joke bro, but you are a good dude. Honoring mom and also taking care of dad. Good for you. Have a nice day Ranching. I think we all have a new found hope after last night's pick.

Team character was set yesterday and today's pick has added values beyond just a dynamics character.

It will take food to get through. This pick has some focused meaning.

Thanks for your guy's sharing. Pass the fixings and this team has been filling since before my home even came together. Thanks!

Are you really trying to treat this like an event that needs food and you're going to view this whole thing like on TV?

I've gotten to the point where I just watch the ESPN and Bleacher Report app and just see what teams to pick and refreshing to update until it gets really close to the Cowboys pics..

Easier because at this point of making it like an event is just too much of a let down and too much wasted energy for me..lol
Hell I rarely even watch the games anymore, I just check out the YouTube highlights after I know who won.

@Ranching, this thread is still yours and always will be as far as I am concerned. Every Sunday getting a hot meal cooked with love like only mom can do is a special thing. Very much worthy of honoring. For me, mom's hot cooked meals ended in 2015 but I still have the blessed memories. RIP mom. As for being benched, I've been there, done that and lost privileges too. There was a time I was getting benched fairly consistently. I apologize to @Reality for that turbulent period. I'm trying really hard these days not to make waves. I have found a definite appreciation for our administrator. Thank you.

Time for a good Cowboys related meal. Been a busy month, dad had heart surgery, doing well, at least for a 90 year old. Blessed to have him and get to hang out with him everyday. My daughter and son in law are coming home in two weeks. He's done with his Air Force, 6 year commitment, and we're all excited for the next phase in their lives! Things getting back to normal, so it's ready for a DRAFT DAY MEAL!
Gonna make it quick and simple, bought a couple of 18 oz Ribeye steaks yesterday afternoon, throw them on the grill along with asparagus, onions, mushrooms and loaded mashed potatoes at about 5pm. Also got some cocktail shrimp and sauce for a pre BBQ snack. Got plenty of Kool Aid, that @gtb1943 sent me, ready to go!

Not sure who I want to draft, but like @Bobhaze says, just trust Jerry! Lol, Have fun guys, cuss out Jerry, blame Dak, or be a homer, whatever makes it fun for you! Go Cowboys!
What's on your plate!
Left overs

I’ve replaced last nights wine..which was flowing..with a cold Coors Light and we will see what food materializes! I mowed the yard today so that deserved beer.

I didn't do anything fancy for the 1sr two nights of the draft because I work 10hr days.
Today however I'm doing a typical Sunday sauce with beef and meatballs served over cavatappi pasta.

The Cowboys are killing the draft by the way!
Go Cowboys!

Mangia!
