Zeke is not as good as Gurley and Gurley led his team to their same 7-9 record. RB are not the difference makers you guys claim. You've eaten the cheese.

I would prefer we trade down for either Zeke or Lynch. I'd rather have the QB.

I'd prefer to trade down for Zeke as well.

Typically, I'd agree with you. RBs aren't different makers. But we are a unique situation. Top QB, top OL, top WR, top TE. Plug the best available RB in there and you get an elite player and an elite offense.

And comparing Zeke to Gurley is pointless. Barry was a better RB than Emmitt; but who was the better pro? Who helped their team more?

If Elliott was a free agent who didn't even require a draft pick, would we sign him to a huge contract with multi millions guaranteed? If your answer is no, then why do you think Dallas will spend that money + the #4 draft pick?
Maybe because Zeke is 20 not the age at which most folks are free agent running backs.

Good post but I disagree on Barry being a better running back. Barry was a better runner. #22 was far superior as a R/B. Emmitt never left the field. He could run, catch block. Emmitt is the best R/B in my lifetime and I would argue is the best of all time.

The weakest links on offense are TWill and Free. We also need more H and F-backs. The marginal difference isn't going to be that much.

An example where a top runner came in and did well and the team not improving record-wise is not pointless. Wins and losses are the bottom line.

Give him #2.....Walter gets my vote #1

Doubt his record is broken in 30yrs

You can find a great player anywhere but it's much harder to find Corners, DE's, OT's, and QB's than it is to find a productive Runningback.

Yah-- that's true.

That said-- I like this player in our scheme. A lot. He has the potential to have the most impact as a rookie this year. Not bad for #4. We've sunk resources into DE (Lawrence/Gregory) and DB (Claiborne) and so I am fine with the team doubling down on what we're good at and getting back to destroying teams with our ground game.

Going to be a lot of fun watching this offense take the field :)
