Thanks LM....who were the persons on the show, and who did the main evaluations?
Kind of goes with other things I been reading. Not a lot of depth at some positions.

RB seems to have depth. Maybe a CB. Possibly a DT in the 1st 2 rounds. No impact DE at 27. But one never knows and could be a sleeper in there.
Will see after the combine how the rankings fall out.

Broaddus and Bugler. And Bugler was giving most of the evaluations. Broaddus agreed most of the time.

It's interesting to read some of the names floating around our draft position though a bit crazy considering it's pre-combine and we're picking so late in the round,,, the pool of names will be quite different late on draft day.

I actually believe what theyre talking about. If Gurley is there and he checks out, thats the pick. Easy.

I think Melvin Gordon will be the better NFL Pro.

Melvin Gordon looks like a combination of Demarco Murray and Jamaal Charles...I didn't think that was possible. He also looks like a better fit, he's a patient back and you need that with some of our stretch zone running plays.

Gordon is more durable. Gurley has been hurt in 2013 and 2014. Gurly won't be ready until October/Nov. I think Gurly is going to be that freak athlete that never stays healthy.

If we don't sign Murray, give me Melvin Gordon.

This draft has a little bit of a 2009 vibe to it. Five years from now I think there will be a lot of swings and misses.

Gurley is on schedule to participate in training camp. And if you watch Gordon mostly everything is outside. When he runs inside its just not there. Def not a combo of Murray.

Or Gurley has a career like Adrian Peterson who has played 104 of a possible 113 games (the suspension is not included in this total).

Peterson's injuries in college:

Shoulder Surgery
Broken Foot
Ankle Injury
Broken Collar Bone

I'm not afraid to admit I watch little to no college ball (NFL takes up too much of my time as it is). With that being said, what's the story on this Gurley guy?

Really worth taking in the 1st round?

Could we legitimately let Murray walk and straight up replace him with this cat?

Gurley is a beast and more talented than Murray, IMO. I'm not high on going RB in the first, but he's that talented. Need his knee to check out though.

It is possible. He had a few big runs in the Florida game but watch the 4th quarter and tell me the the last time you saw Adrian Peterson out of gas with 12 minutes left in the game.

Thanx for the recap LM
No way we are taking Gurley because we will need to make a decision on RB before the draft. If we sign Murray or AP then gurkey is not an option and we can't go into the draft needing a RB in rd 1 which is what would happen if we don't sign Murray or AP. Either way gurley will not be our pick

I bet we sign AP and hardy
Draft DT at 27 or trade back

He is big, strong, fast, and best of all has terrific vision and run instincts IMO.

There are probably backs that have his physical skills but very few will have the vision and instincts that Gurley has. His natural run skills added to his freakish athleticism is what sets the guy apart. Plus, add in that he runs very hard and punishes the defense and you have a potential all pro RB.

Will he be that in the pros? It is anybody's guess right now but the guy certainly is the complete package. If he has the vision and run skills that he appears to, he would be a holy terror behind the Dallas O-line.

without the injury he is a top 10 guy, maybe the best RB to come out since AD.Preston smith is a guy i love but more as a guy who is a strong side DE and can play inside on passing downs where he is unblockable. but i am not sure i would spend a 1st rd pick on him.The combine will determine where he will go.

My point was in regards to the injury issue.

I also think Gurley looks better in game footage than Gordon.

In regards to fumbles:
Gurley: 3 fumbles in 510 carries (1 per 170).
Melvin Gordon: 12 in 631 (1 per 53)

My nephew has been barking at me all week saying the same thing, Gurley is the guy. I do see the elite talent but something about the way Gordon moves is very pleasing to the eye. He is very smooth with tremendous burst. I think he runs just fine between the tackles and when he hits the corner, man that is special.

There is definitely nothing wrong with Gordon, I just think Gurley is better. It's far from an insult to say somebody (Gordon) is the 2nd best player at his position in the draft.

If I'm Minnesota and there is any idea of releasing him, I'd want to try and trade him before or during the draft.

His base salary is 12.75M and that would go with him to the new team if traded. I don't think there is a team that would pay him 12.75M if he was a free agent. I definitely don't think there is a team that would give up draft picks for the right to pay him 12.75M.
