Drafting Bosa would open up board

I like letting the freak around the corner do his thing and instead of trying to find someone to replace him, fix the problem with the interior lineman getting blown 5 yards off the LoS every other play and instead, be freaks that get push up the middle and blow up plays so now there's 2+ freaks coming from the middle and outside destroying plays completely. If they can't easily run anywhere else other than at Gregory, then it shouldn't be difficult to scheme a defense that plays around that.

What's all the Bosa hate? I just don't get it. He is one player that is consistently rated at the top of the draft. If a year ago I told you we can get Bosa I think most would be jumping for joy. IMO, this is a case of analysis paralysis.

What's wrong with taking a great football player who has produced at high level every year he's played and learned to play even when opponents game plan against him. Isn't that what a high first rounder should do?

He is not an edge rusher sack machine...........Broaddus says he is Greg Ellis 2.0.........a really good DE, but not great and will never pile up the sacks.

In the top 5 you want a GREAT player, not just a GOOD player....................that is why a lot of fans are against drafting Bosa at pick 4

We wouldn't be locked into DE no matter what happens with the 1st pick. We were "locked" into taking a RB last year and look how that turned out. The draft is about talent acquisition, not talent acquisition where you need it.

Waited til after the draft and the guy we thought we had went to Seattle lol.

There's more to being an edge rush sack machine when playing DE. He was that during 1st two years until opposing D double and triple team him but his tackle for loss still was high.

How do we know if he's going to be great or just good. It's all projections. Do we know if Ramsey, Jack will be ? Nope.
Broaddus is sitting on the talk show and no longer scouting but he's probably still better than most of us. Nevertheless, we are all entitled to an opinion.

Because we failed to address the need for DE (and CB) in free agency and pass rush was our most glaring weakness. While I agree with you that we should take a long term approach in draft (and I would take a QB), the FO does not seem to agree and wants to maximize Romo's 3-4 year "window." If that's the case, you take Bosa because he fills a glaring need and is close to, if not, the BPA. I don't think there is any "better DE" that will fall into our laps later. Not the strength of this draft. And certainly not one that will make an impact this year...

A rookie DE is not going to make an impact in his first year anyway . Very few rookies at any position make any impact at all .

I think he's a Jared Allen clone. Not bad at all. Seems to have the Allen Motor and the desire to play. Allen was 6 foot 6 and ran a 4.72 and was 265 lbs.

I really like the idea of Jack playing the strongside LB and covering TE. Move him behind the line on nickel.

I keep hearing meniscus though and I haven't heard of a good repair of that yet.

Yep. That's why I wouldn't care so much about drafting a DE if we had a talented veteran on the team. We have a lot of potential at the DE position with Lawrence, Gregory, Russell, Mayowa and even Irving. What we lack is proven veterans. I don't see Bosa solving that problem. This draft is deep in DT talent and I'd like to come out with one or two studs. But we put ourselves in a hole at DE by not addressing the position in free agency.

Nobody wants Bosa over Ramsey, Buckner, Tunsil, Jack or a Trade Down. Unless you want a QB, which is justA-reeDickwiO, ha ha ha ha! ... !

I disagree, the front office has no plan. If they were going all in to get Romo a ring, they would have done what they could to upgrade the defense, like Denver did for Manning. The cowboys didn't do that, they basically signed a few guys that would probably be gathering shopping carts at Lowe's, because they were cheap. You need talent to win. As for drafting Bosa, the 4 cornerstones of building a team through the draft, is franchise QB, LT, Rush DE, and CB. WE have our LT, Bosa is not a pass rushing DE, Ramsey, even if available, is not and NFL CB he is a safety and you don't take safeties at 4. So that leaves you with QB. It's really very easy, you don't draft for need, and Bosa, as highly rated as he is, is not a pass rushing DE, neither is Buckner. The pass rushers are further down the first round and into the second. To be honest, I would not draft an OSU player in the first round. They are a product of their overwhelming better talent then their opponents. You don't see many OSU stars in the NFL. Another thing, you don't waste the 4th pick in the draft because your DE is out for 4 games with a suspension.
Great post. Im also confused about how we are " all in" for romos last two years. Denver was a great example.
