Draftkings and Fanduel

I'm glad it's legal give me a break I don't need people telling me what I can and can't do. So what are these sites like, I could use some reviews and more info. Always played fantasy football for free up to now. I might throw these sites a little coin if it is entertaining.

It's legal to throw me coin too.

Two things...

The government will figure some method of getting their fingers into it.

Neither business, Draft Kings nor Fan Duel, is profitable (as of now).

Something will give.

Everyone should be able to have their opinion and invest their time and money on what they like.
But one of the main problems with this country now is people that think this or that should be illegal.
People who think that whatever they don't like or approve of "should be illegal" and denied to others is wrong.
I hope that was just hyperbole, and you don't really feel that way.
"Land of the Free" "Capitalism" - great concepts, check 'em out.
Sorry for going there, but this is just a huge pet peeve.

Betting is massive in European soccer, and has been for a decade. Watching the Man Utd game right now and I see ads for bet365 and betfair everywhere. It's probably a large source of income for teams and leagues over there, if the nfl is making their cut, they'll do all they can to protect it.

Has anyone actually played fanduel and Draftkings? Was interested in signing up but need some feedback.

Yep = played Fan Duel last year and got into a $5 game and finished 137th out of 2500 and won $237 (thanks Tony for a big week). I actually enjoy it. I know it's long odds but I also know if you do a little homework there are matchups you can take advantage of.

It's recreation to me. I'll spend about $50 on the entire season on small money games and yes, you can win a million dollars on a very small buy in.

At least you have a decent chance to win in poker, blackjack, and fantasy football. Not true with the government sponsored lotteries.

They'll likely close down these guys eventually or open up (or reopen) other gambling avenues. Then you'll have the FanDuel and DraftKings mixed in with poker, blackjack, and sportsbook sites.

I don't know about fanduel, but draftkings is simple and easy. They have an app so you can do everything from your phone, different prices that vary from $10,000+ per entry to $.25 and most of the major sports. Picking your players is simple and they show each players opponents ranking to make it simpler(Each QB will show the opponents passing defense ranking etc...). They also sponsor dozens of games daily where its cheap to get in $1-3 for $40,000-1,000,000 as the prize pool. They also sponsor free events with large prizes frequently.

The only negative is the matching deposit they advertise on TV. Yes they will match your deposit up to $200 dollar for dollar....eventually. How it actually works is they release $1 slowly as you play. You accumulate frequent player points(FPP) and for every 100 points you get they release $1 dollar until eventually you get that matching deposit. Most cheap games are only 12 or so FPP.

It's definitely worth a shot, but unless you're very skilled, don't go in hopingto win big. Just go in expecting to have some fun and you will.

Would rather that they just allow legal gambling on games, outside Vegas and such

Probably because of their marketing budget. It's an insane money maker once they establish market share.

I just played on Fan Duel for the first time this last weekend. Played in two tournaments. One where first prize was a million dollars (25$ entry) and the second where first prize was $100,000 (5$ entry). It certainly makes the day more interesting. I got smoked. But it will be that way some times. I'll be playing again this weekend for sure.

I work for the Department of Gaming in Arizona. A big reason why AZ doesn't allow online gambling (draftkings/fanduel included) is because of the Indian Tribes. They don't want it happening as it would take a large cut from them. The Tribes have a lot of pull.

Nope. The UIGEA that shutdown online poker actually had a carveout for this BS.
