My first stab -

Trade players / future picks to garner 2nd #1.....
Assume we have all picks later rounds (some traded etc)

1a) Ngata NT Fergi backup in 2006
1B) Pat Watkins - S 6-4 205 4.5
2) I'm sold - Klopfenstein TE 6-5+ 245 4.59
3) Jonathan Orr WR - 6-1 193 4.31 SLEEPER
4) Dontrell my man Moore RB - STEAL of draft
5) J Lewis DT - 6-1 310 DT depth
6) M Lawson DE/OLB 6-5 230 4.7 TWEENER
7) Ricky Santos!!!! RS sophomore :) QB/RB UNH rewriting 1 -AA record books.... Next crayton

Who does Watkins play for Nors? I know nothing about him... I'm all for getting a good FS though.

Florida State.

I like Laron Landry of LSU myself.

Granted its early, but...

I'd like NT depth and a young guy there, but who exactly are you going to trade for that other #1?

I don't think Dallas values the FS position. I'd be surprised if they use an early pick on one. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go with Pile/Davis/Beriault next year, in fact.

I think Lawson probably goes before 6. I've seen him in 1 in some mocks. Isn't he a little small for your liking anyway? :D

Why would a I-AA guy come out two years early? Undersized I-AA QBs put up sick numbers all the time and typically end up undrafted unless they are rare McNair type talents. I watched one Santos game and he looked OK, but I think he would be best served to get some seasoning before he tried to make the jump.

Thanks Hos. I have watched almost no college football this year. I'm not sure why... maybe because the hurricane screwed up the early part of the schedules for me.

I know that Landry has been called special by a few preseason mags. Do you think he's a special player?

FSU - Has freakish size speed, coverage skills. May be first safety drafted.....

Unless we blow the second half of the season or we trade up Ngata will be long gone.

I would like to see Huff or Landry drafted in the first round

Im a DUCK. Ngata is by far the biggest reason this defense has been so stout this year. Devan Long is a good DE, but no doubt, the presence of Ngata makes him better. The guy is an incredible athlete, and he's HUGE. Great guy too, the 2 times I've met him

What about Landry, like Hos said? I haven't seen either, so I don't know.

Per Lindy's Football Magazine...

"As a Sophomore, rated among the bestplayers at his position in the past two decades."

He's a ball hawk and sure tackler.

Hey man... I was first on the Watkins bandwagon...

He is just what we need though. Tall, very athletic, rangy... The "centerfielder" free safety we haven't had since... Well, forever.

I do remember that. Back when we were discussing him and Bing of USC.

You think Ngata lasts past top 10? The guy is a monster.
No way he slips out of the top 10 and I agree. He's a bull.

Just curious. What are you laughing at?

I'd guess the sheer agenda lurking beneath the surface.

He's trading Glover.

Bringing back his original stance on Julius by bringing in another RB.

Ignoring LB until a late hybrid.
