Drew Bledsoe 2nd half 2005 vs. Vinny Testaverde 2nd half 2004 (Almost identical)

Remember these words..."With Bledsoe it's ALWAYS about the OL".

Take a look at Zaxor's sig pic and remember that game we had against the Bills and Bledsoe in 2003. Remember how he played in that game. It's ALWAYS about the OL when Bledsoe plays.

No matter what upgrades we make (and yes, we do need upgrades on the OL), it won't be enough and it will STILL be about the OL as long as Bledsoe is taking the snaps.

For any of us to think that's going to get any better in 2006, with Bledsoe just another year older, is wishful thinking.

You couldn't prove it stat wise Mike...

All aspects of a QB should be considered... Bledsoe had 17 fumbles, 17 interceptions and 49 sacks this year in 499 attempts... Vinny T had 8 fumbles, 20 interceptions and 34 sacks last year in 495 attempts think about that for just a moment and not let it just pass in one ear and out the other folks plus the running game for most of the season sucked for Testy because Jones was hurt

also VT had 60.0% completion rate Bledsoe had 60.1%
VT threw for 3532 yards without Terry Glenn for the most part Bledsoe threw 3639

average per pass completion VT 7.14 Bledsoe 7.29

they are the same guy...it is freaky...they are so close the only differerance would be that Bledsoe threw a few more TD's 23 for Bledsoe to 17 for VT but bledsoe had lot more negative plays....

Vinny was better and did more with less...no TG no JJ

He had JJ for the last 7 games. Please don't ignore that. That is also when Vinny played at his worst. I will not say Bledsoe is a great QB because I don't think he is, but Vinny just plains sucks. If Dallas could have run the ball the last 7 games this season the way they did in 2004, they would be in the playoffs and Drew would have been better. The line was just bad, bad, bad in several games down the stretch this season. Put Vinny in the last few games here and he turns it over more than Drew. Maybe it is a choice of two evils. I just know that Vinny is the worse of the two.

Just because it always tends to come up. Let us not forget the 2nd half of 2003:

Quincy Carter (2003, last 8 games)
4-4 Beat a good Carolina team, a decent Bills team and very bad Skins and Giants teams
1,599 yards
157 completions, 272 attempts
57.7% completion
9 touchdowns, 12 interceptions
5 fumbles, 3 lost
67.33 QB Rating

That is different than saying he isn't better than Vinny. Two different arguements. More people will agree with the point you just made than will agree that Drew wasn't much better than Vinny.

Agree.

Zaxor.

Vinny use to put us in huge holes with his knack for throwing interceptions and trying his best to give away games.

Bledsoe won far more games than Vinny did, the only one I can give Vinny credit for is the last Skins game, which didnt mean anything anyway.

Bledsoe is waaaaaay better than Vinny Testeverde and to me, it aint even close.

I really do think the play calling on offense and defense handy capped Bledsoe this year.

There was not one game on the schedule that Bledsoe cost us where he threw an interception and didnt make up for it by throwing a TD to make up for it.

Vinny and Quincy were turnover machines.

do you have the seattle game better go look at that

also like I told ya Bledsoe has had a lot more weapons at his disposal than VT no wonder VT looked bad

also Bledsoe had 17 fumbles and 17 int's what do you consider a turn over machine?

It's not like some folks around here didn't predict the 2nd half collapse.

Our O-line was HORRID in the second half....Those stats are meaningless behind that line...

At least 3 new QUALITY starters on the O-line must be the priotiy in 2006...

Bledsoe will be LIGHTS out with protection.....

WHEN HAS BLEDSOE EVER IN HIS ENTIRE CAREER BEEN LIGHTS OUT?????????

jeez people - athletes don't suddenly turn it on because they become a cowboy!!!

it's crap like this that is NOT based in reality that furthers the anti-drew sentiment. quit forcefeeding him to us w/a bunch of junk HE'S NEVER DONE FOR A FULL YEAR IN 13 years and people would probably dislike him less.

Come on now Ice, Bledsoe is the best damn .500 QB in history.

Again so he had JJ for the last 7 games as you say one of which Henson did some QBing in...

Still you say VT was bad in those games well DUH who did he have to throw to Copper? Key was playing on a bum leg...Crayton wasn't all that good...Quincy Morgan please...

If you know Vinny is worse than all I ask is to prove it to me I am listening

When you look at it this way, Bledsoe doesn't look like much of an improvement over Testaverde, does he?

And when you look at it from where you're sitting on your toilet, it stinks, doesn't it?

Drew still had 25% more TDs in the second half - 33% more wins in the second half. And I wonder why both QBs seemed to tail in the 2nd half? Could it be that ALL QBS IN THE NFL TAIL IN THE SECOND HALF? Show me the top 10 in the league first and second half.

Don't use silly percentages to inflate the statistics.

The truth is, Bledsoe had one more win.

The truth is, Bledsoe only threw two more touchdowns.

The truth is, Bledsoe fumbled three more times that Vinny.

The truth is, both player's stats are too eerily similar for my taste's.

As the days go by there are more and more stupid threads like this one.
Remember what mark twain said:"There are lies, there are DAMN lies, THEN there are STATISTICS!"

Really how do you figure? is it winning %? is it making those around him better? is it his decision making? is it ball control? is it performance under pressure? is it finishing strong? what is it that makes him better than 2/3 of the QB's out there...

oh - party foul. asking for facts on opinions based on emotion! : )

is it stupid because you disagree?
