Folks, I just got back from camp and there is nothing wrong with Henson's velocity he has enough zip on the ball for the three of them. The only problem I see is the ball seems to be rising on him he is overthrowing his WR, not throwing interceptions.

I am not a Henson or Romo fan and I think we all know Bledsoe is a stop gap, but he looked very sharp at Camp so far. He will br very servicable for us this year till one of these young guns is ready or till neither of them is ready and we have to go elsewhere.

thanks for the report friend...

I noticed from Radiohead's reports that when a TD was scored it was usually Henson Qbing...I am not in the least bit concerned about Henson except for his in game exp. but if by the end of this year Henson is not ready to push the starter it might be time to look to the draft for a QB...I have been encourage by all the nice reports of Bledsoe but I still want to see it in-game...I find it hard to believe that a leopard can change his spots but we will see

This is training camp....TRAINING CAMP.

Operative word here is TRAINING.

While I have doubts about Henson myself, I'm not about to throw him under the bus just yet.

He might or might not be fine, there is nothign Definate in this game, so saying he's gona fine by no means gives me comforte because he could very well fail. But we will all see by preseason game 4.

Agreed. You can be the best workout warrior on the team but that doesn't mean a thing if you can't get the job done on the field.

I don't personally think we've seen enough of Henson to pass judgement one way or the other.

I am amazed at the extent some will go to defend this waste of a draft pick

He's hardly a waste of a draft pick. We got him for a 3rd, and he's a better QB prospect then what we could have recieved for that 3rd we gave to Houston. Give the kid a break.

We need to find out if this kid is the real deal or not because if he isnt there is a sweet qb draft coming up next year.

that's true, but I don't consider Vince Young to be anyone we would target. He's a bigger Mike Vick with lesser passing skills. I'm already starting to hear the rumblings on here about how we should draft him...puke
I'll only go for that if we are drafting him as a WR.
Fun to watch in college, but no way will it translate...

I read this on another board and had to post it cuz it made so much sence

I am amazed by the absolute stuppidity and lack of knowlege displayed by fans who are bashing Henson because his rythm and timing are off.

It shows the absolute lack of knowlege you all have regarding training methods and the time it takes to finish the product. Parcells said he viewed Henson as a 3 year project himself.

Rather than go into sports scienece and physiology disertation...I will make this simple for you couch fed fans who have no idea how overload training works.

First analogy. Go to the gym and lift for 2 hours using real heavy weights ...do upper body like crazy for 2 hours. ok there is your overload, now go shoot hoops. If anyone has ever done this suddenly their shot is flat or compltely off.

Henson has just completed one of the most intense off season conditioning programs of his life. His body was overloaded and needs to adjust while he additionaly threw over 6000 passes to improve his throwing mechanics. (by the way the magical number is 5000 repetitions of a movement will make it your natural body movement) All those throws have overloaded his arm, similar to lifting heavy and going to shoot hoops. Of course his timing is off, his throws are off. He is adjusting.

Henson will be fine by the end of training camp. And will be in the mix for QB of the future, he is smart and talented & has all the time to learn under Bledsoe now. Henson will be just fine, keep things in perspective.

This might make a little sense if Drew Henson had thrown a weight or threw a Football the length of the field the entire time which he did not do. He was throwing to receivers running routes or just out passing the ball like we all do in our back yard. Mostly he was throwing to young receivers that where running routes. If anything he should be more accoustomed to throwing passes to those receivers and on most routes ran. This analogy while not your own is BS in this case and you need to post this where ever you found it.

Those 5000 of those 6000 passes were thrown back in March and April. If his arm is still overloaded from that how will a few more weeks of work improve his tired arm? This hypothesis works had the work come in May and June but there should have already been ample time for the fatigue to wear off before camp started. Nice excuse but I'm not buying it.

I do believe that the extra work is the reason that he is having problems but I believe that it is mental not physical. I beleive that he is still thinking too much about his mechanics and not just letting it go. By worrying about his mechanics he is not concentrating as he should on the game and the receivers. Still I do agree that in the final analysis he will be just fine by the end of camp. It may however be too little too late for him to win the backup position This Year but it would really make him ready for next year...his third in what Bill terms his three year project.

Good pics, Zaxor. Definitly shows the change. He probably is back to thinking too much about his throwing motiion though. Last year he had to think too much about the learning the offense, and now this year he has to think about his motion. Regardless, we have to see some improvement in the preseason games, and I think we will.

The Wiley signing was an act of desperation. Not playing Henson last year was just plain stupid.

Would holding a 16 ounce beer in one hand and driving my Cub Cadet with the other be sufficient?
