Dropped passes yardage

I believe dropped passes by receivers, tight ends & running backs has lead to loss of 500yds + and 10 TDs of the board.

Dak’s real stats is 5,500 yards 40 TDs and 11-5 season.

Just because a WR makes an attempt to catch an errant ball...doesn't make it a "drop pass". QBs and WR's work incessantly on TIMING for a reason. If the receiver is never sure where the ball is gonna be, that uncertainty can cause timing issues. Then add to it getting ready to be smashed because you've lost your route and vision.

This stat you are parading....gives all shadow of doubt on the receiver. If you want to dance with stats, and present a balanced case, tell us how many passes Dak did NOT hit in stride (or "on target", caught or not. Otherwise you are making excuses for Dak poor location.

4,999 yds & 30 TDs worth of it.

To be clear...I'm not in favor of ditching dak. And yes...he had a solid year. But THIS thread is about leaving yards and TDs on the field.

It's my opinion that Dak participated in that as much as receivers. This "drop passes" stat relieves Dak of all responsibility. Not buying it. There's clearly a habit of bad throws...and we should see those stats too.

But then we would have to subtract all of the passes thrown over the heads or behind receivers, TE's and RB's

Wait, what? Why? What kind of logic is this? In this thread's scenario is he getting completions and yards for those types of throws? I thought it was for DROPS, not errand passes? There's a difference between a drop and a straight up bad throw. Either way this thread's pretty pointless.

Uhh not always, you know you can have a dropped pass on lets say First and Goal and still get the TD or FG, right?
Or get the first down, so if the drive stalls that drop can't be blamed for it.
