Here's what bronco fans think.
Now I am ok with them saying the are ok with having DThomas over Dez or they still would take DT over Dez because he is a cleaner product, But some of them are saying its not even close DT over Dez? Numbers don't lie. DT had what 50 something more yards but dez had 2 more touchdowns last season both of their best seasons to date. Now if you see there career its dez by a long shot. 27 TD's not including his 2 on punt returns. DT has 16 total TD's. Dez is also a year younger. DT ran a faster 40 yard dash but Dez still looks plenty explosive to me on the field (his 40 yard time doesn't seem to match his on the field speed, maybe because it was after sitting out a year of football idk).

DT is a good player and they should be happy that they have him. Dez is a better player and will continue to show that throughout his career. Dez has rare playmaking abilities and has the potential to be one of the greats. He was dominant the second half of last season and better than just about every receiver in the league during that period. If he stays healthy, and continues to stay out of trouble, he has HOF ability/potential (I know that he is nowhere near that, as far as accomplishments, at this point). I don't see that with DT who is also poised to have a very good career. Moving up to get Dez has proven to be a very shrewd move. I believe we followed that pick with Sean Lee. For all his flaws, and he has tons, I've gotta give Jerry and company credit for those selections.

My brother is a broncos fan and we have this exact argument probably once a week

slap him with the numbers, facts and knowledge. Leave him dumb founded. lol. Bring up career numbers and see what his excuse is:cool: They both been in the league for 3 years and dez is a year younger.

I think that Broncos fans can be happy with their pick, as he is proving to be one heck of a player. Comparing the two could certainly prove to be an interesting debate, but one I'm sure Broncos fans will revisit from time to time since they had their pick of either player.

The ones that suggest DT is light years better than Dez at this point in their careers would really be overly biased or "intelligence challenged". The good news is that all fan bases have them and it does not represent their fans that I have experienced over the years. Good, knowledgeable football fans as a whole.

I agree ----an immature kid who is now growing up with the right influences around him. A new work ethic merged with hall of fame type talent. Barring injuries may be one of the greatest 88's this team has ever had.

Agreed
And a huge deal when you consider the other 88s

Don't know how fair it is to compare the players. After all, one has one of the greatest QBs of all time slinging him the rock weekly and the other just has Manning.

Who was throwing to him those two other years?

Also, as you already stated.. injuries hampered his numbers the first two years, as well.

DT is a good receiver and definitely benefits from having Peyton throwing him the ball.

he also was very raw at WR coming out of college so probably still has room to grow

but i would say Dez is clearly better. just put in the tape and watch how they play and there is something about Dez that stands out

i'm trying not to be biased towards Dez but i also get the feeling that Dez is one of those WRs that would be able to make his QB look better, whereas up to this point DT seems like one that is made better by the QB

on a side note, i spent most of my life in Denver listening to donkey fans try and justify how they had the best players and i honestly wouldn't pay any attention to a thing they say. i think the thin air has them all deluded

for one injuries aren't excuses just like in the sean lee and luke k thread. Luke k because he is younger and can play a full season. Gotta stay healthy. Just like demarco murray needs to stay healthy. Yeah he is a beast when healthy but can't help ya team win on the sideline or in the tub.

but even in both healthy season there numbers are almost the same. Dez with 2 more td's and DT with 50 more yards. And he had a the great maybe hall of fame qb peyton manning (one of the best to ever play the game) throwing to him.

But to say definalty way better than dez lmao

I know we all like to have these little debates, but for me, I don't really care who the better player is. I care about who the better team is. Of course, better players make better teams, theoretically. Personally, I think they're both great WR's, but I'd give a slight edge to Dez. I just think if/when he gets the technical/mental part of the game figured out, he has the higher ceiling.

I don't think the Broncos should lament their decision as they got a very good player who may be a top 10 WR or better in the coming years. However, I think Dez has more potential to take over a game and get into zones where he just flat out cannot be covered. I don't think there's a huge gap between the two but I def think Dez is better. But I think DT has a much better QB throwing to him too. Would I take Peyton Manning plus Welker and DT over Romo, Austin, and Dez?....think that's a no brainer honestly.
