Not gonna knock a guy for lack of production when he has Tebow throwing to him.

I think are very good and both could be dominant. I see no reason to debate this.

for one injuries aren't excuses just like in the sean lee and luke k thread. Luke k because he is younger and can play a full season. Gotta stay healthy. Just like demarco murray needs to stay healthy. Yeah he is a beast when healthy but can't help ya team win on the sideline or in the tub.

but even in both healthy season there numbers are almost the same. Dez with 2 more td's and DT with 50 more yards. And he had a the great maybe hall of fame qb peyton manning (one of the best to ever play the game) throwing to him.

But to say definalty way better than dez lmao

I was just making a point. When looking at their overall numbers and saying its not even close, you have to realize Dez has had Romo to throw to him all three years, whereas DT has battled some injuries and also dealt with Tim Tebow as his QB last year, and Orten before that.. so not quite the same there.

I think its close, im glad we have Dez though.

i think it's clear that dez has the higher potential, and i would say he has a little edge right now. And he is more of a playmaker than DT is!

Why make excuse who the QB is or injuries? It is what it is and stats are stats...Romo sucks according to many here anyways.

If we are going to make excuses, then Dez have few injuries as well, albeit not as serious as DT and Dez wasn't #1 option until middle of last year.

Its not an excuse.. its pointing out why his stats were not greater than they were. It would be an excuse if he came back from those injuries and didn't play well. I was simply pointing out that since he only played in so many games his first two years, obviously, an overall stat comparison isn't valid. Not to mention he had Tebow throwing to him the one year, so the things that make him a playmaker are somewhat negated when your QB can't throw the ball downfield quickly or accurately and when he doesn't attempt that many passes to begin with.

That being said, im still agreeing with you that i'd rather have Dez. I think he'll be the better player in the long run, barring injury.

We haven't even reached Dez's peak yet. Now he's even more serious about football, learning the details and hasn't been in a bit of trouble off the field. Dez anyday, hands down. Wouldn't trade Dez for any other WR, without even seeing him play a down next year. Dez's combine will never matter. On the field he's becoming uncoverable. Too quick, too strong, too hungry.

I think they're both extremely talented and have top 5 skillsets. Julio, Green, Dez, and DT are the new wave of WRs in the league and will be considered the top 5 along with Calvin Johnson for a very long time.

FWIW, I think Dez and DT are extremely similar in all categories but I'd give Dez the nod in the hands department. He's a natural pass catcher with over mitts for hands. I also think Dez has superior body control to Thomas, he's arguably the best receiver in the league at adjusting to the ball in the air. Thomas is slightly faster in a straight line.

Any Bronco fan that says it's not close did not watch Dez' entire 2012 season.
But the same goes for any Cowboy fans saying Dez is far better than Thomas.
It's a preposterous statement either way right now.
IMO

Both of these guys had phenomenal seasons.
Thomas: 94 rec, 1434 yards, 10 TDs, 29 plays > 20 yards
Bryant: 92 rec, 1382 yards, 12 TDs, 19 plays > 20 yards

I don't see how any rational fan could separate those two too much.

I think Dez will have the better season this year though.

Thomas is taller, heavier, and faster (at least based on combine times) than Dez however Dez has better hands and body control.

I expect them both to be in the top 5 next year.

Easily Dez, not even debatable.

No, its very debatable. Neither have reached their peak yet, both are still very young and both will dominate in the NFL for a long time to come. Both would be great to have on this team, but again.. im very happy we have Dez.

Now if we can just get an OL to block to give these guys time to get downfield..

Thomas didn't have the best of qb's throwing to him so I don't know if the career comparison is fair.

DT is a good receiver and definitely benefits from having Peyton throwing him the ball.

he also was very raw at WR coming out of college so probably still has room to grow

but i would say Dez is clearly better. just put in the tape and watch how they play and there is something about Dez that stands out

i'm trying not to be biased towards Dez but i also get the feeling that Dez is one of those WRs that would be able to make his QB look better, whereas up to this point DT seems like one that is made better by the QB

on a side note, i spent most of my life in Denver listening to donkey fans try and justify how they had the best players and i honestly wouldn't pay any attention to a thing they say. i think the thin air has them all deluded
I think they're both very good WRs but Dez has a little more to offer as a returner, let's say this if DT was here in Dallas he would put up some good numbers with Tony as his QB, and if Dez was in Denver with Manning, it would be totally unfair as what nightmares that would cause for defenses glad we have Dez, and he has that potential to be the best WR Dallas ever had if he keeps up his improvement.

One has the best QB in history throwing him the ball, the other has an average QB throwing him the ball, yet still puts up huge numbers. Give me Dez.

Dez is better by a long shot.

I have a close friend who is a die-hard Denver fan and when I talk about Dez he usually says something along the lines of, "Man, I can't believe we passed on Dez. I'm still pissed about that."

He agrees that Dez is head and shoulders better than DT.

That article is nothing but pure garbage. Love they author talk up DT while downplaying Dez's performance even though Dez's overall stats are much better.

The Bronco fans are talking about how much stronger and tougher DT is than Dez, lol.

They must not watch Dez very much.

Dez is a serious beast.
But when you said Dez is clearly better than Thomas "by a long shot", it tells me that you may be guilty of what you are accusing them. I say this politely.

Thomas is huge, fast, strong, and had a40 inch vertical.
He too is very beastly.

I prefer Dez. But it is not a huge mismatch.
