DT Jordan Phillips was a big problem vs Saints

Isn’t that a happy ending without DeSean Jackson . Although this being Ridgeways 3rd team in a short amount of time would seem the clock is ticking .
Actually, the Saints are Ridgeway's second team since he never got the chance to play for the Cowboys.

If our FO had a lick of good sense, they would have known better to sign a DT that the Giants would be happy to send us. Go figure!

Not having someone better is the bigger problem.

Defensive tackles Randy White, John Dutton, Russel Maryland, and Tony Casilles along with defensive end Ed Jones were all anchors on the Cowboys Super Bowl defensive lines.

What else do they have in common?

They were all top 5 picks overall in their respective drafts.

You can't build a D-line without investing in some top talent.
We used a first round draft pick on Mazi then for some reason put him on Jenny Craig and ruined him for last year.
Now instead of anchoring our defense for 10 years like was intended he's a rebuild project with shaken confidence trying to establish himself.

Then we used a second round pick on spoon maker at tight end that we didn't need that pic should have been a defensive tackle.

Basically we wasted two top picks that if used properly could have anchored or defense for the next 10 years

I was wondering the same thing. If anyone knows that answer, it would be most appreciated.

QUESTION: Can a player on another team's practice squad refuse to go with another team who tries to pick him up, or does he have to go no matter what?

Pretty sure the player can choose because they have to sign a contract with the other team.

Drafted and cut Dallas then Commanders now Saints …= 3 . Wish him well except when we meet them in the playoffs .

I don't think Ridgeway was active this past Sunday. I believe the Saints are giving him time to learn their playbook. Saints beat writers are saying the Saints plan on using him a lot though.

I believe we lost a draft pick to the Giants for Phillips since he’s played 2 games . Before he’s cut I make sure he can’t contribute you have a pick invested in him .

Here is another viewpoints about what's happened. It's long and at times repetitive, but still some good analysis. The overall premise if that the Saints are a great run blocking team that did the same thing to the Panthers the week before. You can skip the first 8 minutes

And btw, Jordan Phillips is not just bad in Dallas. He was bad last year. He obviously looked bad with the Giants.

The one thing I have noticed after watching a few of these videos is the Saints got away with a log of holding. I don't know if the Cowboys also got away with a lot of holding but it seems like the holding call on Guyton was ticky-tack compared to some of the holding the Saints were doing.

They should have enough comp picks in 2025. Cant be worried about a lost 7th rounder. Cut Phillips and get a hungrier and younger player(if nothing else). Phillips looks like a player who is ready to retire.

Just dumb. If you don't have it fixed by TC, you're not going to fix it.

Just dumb to throw draft picks in the garbage before you have someone to replace him . I suggested Dallas go back and get Rogers the 7th rounder from this past draft on the Bengals PS and others on the board seem to indicate he doesn’t want to return to Dallas . Did Zimmer hurt his feelings or what ?

Or he sees the olio that is the Cowboys. Right now he's on a super bowl contender.

He has a chance to come to Dallas and get paid game checks or sit on the PS get paid less on the 0-2 Bengals . If he can’t figure this out maybe it’s good he stay where he is .

I just created a new thread with important overnight information directly communicating with Justin Rogers! I hope our mods approve and let me show everyone what transpired. Justin is clearly interested in coming back.

That would be good . Some people in training camp thought he was better than Mazi . Bring Rogers in put him in the rotation he’s familiar with Zimmer and if Phillips doesn’t work out cut him .
