The only thing he did at the combine is the bench. At his pro day he did a vertical and board jump. Everything that gets mentioned is fake
Really are you buying into that a wide spread media Disneyland investing?

I don't know what you are talking about?

The workout numbers some media places have floated in Smith are false. Even Felderman said that some numbers he posted in his freaks list were inaccurate

I am looking forward to seeing him in a "turned loose" situation because he was required to play the position exactly the way Harbaugh wanted it played, clog up the middle which has always been Michigan football.

He is surrounded by better players and it will be a pleasure to watch him respond.

But you know the real pleasure? Watching our first DT taken in the 1st round since Russell Maryland 30 years ago. Been yelling for a guy like this for a long time,

Check out Mazi Smith's athletical numbers and comparisons to other players. Absolute freak! (Picture below is thanks to Bleacher Report)

The numbers are crazy! I hope it translates.

Liked the pick in April and can't wait to see this kid play in the NFL.

Another good one was that action figure looking Defensive end from Baylor a few years back (Shawn Oakman). Had a down year in 2015 and was still projected to be a fringe 1st rounder just on athletic ability alone. He's currently in the CFL and I far as I know never had an NFL team reach out for a tryout even with his name getting cleared in regards to the legal charges he had
He was a problem off the field too but yes he was an athletic freak of nature. He looked like a super human but as the saying grew about him….”look like tarzan, play like Jane”. He was thoroughly underwhelming on the field including his college tape. That’s my fear with Mazi. If Mazi has any shot at all of becoming a great pro he landed in the right place. I hope DQ can turn that athleticism into a run stuffing, pocket collapsing, double-team swallowing, unblockable beast….but as I said repeatedly when we drafted him, I have concerns. And no one wants me to be wrong more than me. I will celebrate my wrongness here if I am because it will likely mean our defense is dominating.

Passing on Nolan Smith is going to haunt the Cowboys for years. Pairing him with Micah would have been unstoppable.

I think the fact that he’s surrounded by a pretty awesome defense will definitely help the progress. And no doubt that round 1 DT was long overdue.

Hopefully his athletic numbers show up during games. I’ve seen plenty of workout warriors who’ve failed on the field.

Byron Jones was also an athletic freak. That doesn’t mean success in the NFL. I’m hoping for the best though.
