good pointDoes anyone remember if Floyd visited last year? If not, and they are meeting with Jernigan, then maybe they don't view them as the same type of player.
C'mon guys, watch some tape.

You cannot watch these and honestly tell me he doesn't have trouble getting off blocks and rushing the QB.
Is he great in the run game? Yes. Is he going to consistently get after the QB, generate pressure and collapse the pocket? No.
I just don't see us using our 1st on him.
My issue with Jernigan is that I really like several mid and late round DTs. I can't say that about some positions especially DE.Maybe it had something to do with the scheme he played in not asking him to get after the QB? He played a ton of read and react which means his 1st step was rarely towards the QB. Jernigan is plenty athletic and probably has the best hand use of any DT in this draft. Just because he didn't compile sacks in college doesn't mean his skill set doesn't translate to the nfl. The only question on Jernigan in my opinion is his arm length which is less than ideal.

I agree with that. Reid, Thornton, Uko, Bromley, Gaston, Stephen, Kerr, Bishop, and probably a couple others I'm forgetting are all really good fits as rotation players in our scheme. If we don't go DT in round 1 I would have no problem waiting until the 4th to address the position because of the depth this year.
If both Donald and Barr go in the top 15 picks (which is very likely) who else is there? Even though I disagree, I dont think safety is in play and Mosely seems to be sliding down everyone's board. Is there anyone else left on the defensive side of the ball that makes any sense? Obviously trading down would be ideal situation but that could be easier said than done this year.

glad your not our GM - and is the guy to dumb to play 3 Tech
it a move of like 3 feet - does that diminish his HUSTLE
sorry dude he will not fall -IMO
DUDE I could care less what a X scout says let alone a writer
if he's there at 16 an we pass on him
we have sorry scouts
the kid is a player the type we need - IMO
He looks like a Drake Nevis clone to me. Short arms and not fast enough at the 3 and not strong enough at the 1.I'd consider Will Sutton in the 3rd round. I think the kid would be a good choice to spell Melton and he could also play some #1 technique.
Good thing your not the gM. Jernigan will fall. It's not being able to play the 3. It's about being able to play the 3 the way marinelli wants.
They passed on Floyd last year and he was better than jernigan.
he was huh ?
He was brought in for a visit along with Barr. They wouldn't have done that unless they were serious about him as a possibility
How do you know? There are some that really like his potential, and have called him exactly what you've dubbed Jernigan... an athletic 1T who can generate some pressure.
Agree with Hayden though. He's a JAG.
