His size is fine. He is just shorter than normal.

Not true. He is way too light. Height doesn't matter, but weight does. It permeates into everything.

Even if he is perfect fundamentally as a passblocker, for instance, he's going to be giving up 50-60 lbs to guys who are running down hill. They're consistently going to blow him up.

I have two theories and one is more boring than the other.

1. Vaughn lost the third QB spot after he nearly got Dak killed by his failures/inability to pick up blitzers.

2. More boring theory: Davis was brought up for special teams play with C.J. Goodwin out and with Damone Clark seeing less special teams work due to added defensive snaps. So it made sense to sit Vaughn instead of having five backs active for one game.
