lol its not an opinion its a fact. how many times have duke been the best team in college basketball and choked? did u see uconn do that? maryland, illinois, michigan state? thats just recent times too.

I live in Richmond, VA and am a season ticket holder for VCU basketball. VCU was the better team all year and was the better team tonight. If the Rams win a game or two more, Grant should be considered for national coach of the year. VCU fan or not, I'm so glad Duke lost. Just to see the look on those self-entitled spoiled brat's faces when they lost just made my week.

Paulus getting owned? How about a career-high 25 points, and if it wasn't for him and McRoberts, Duke would've been killed. I highly doubt that he got "owned."

And for everyone who thinks it's an upset, it's really not. If you just go by the names on the jerseys, sure...it's an upset. But I'm a huge Duke fan and anyone that has watched them knows that they are extremely young and they didn't have that go-to guy this season (i.e. players like Redick, Shelden Williams, Jason Williams, Shane Battier of recent years). Other than DeMarcus Nelson, everyone else was either sophomores or freshmen. So we will be back - I doubt that anyone is leaving after this year, even McRoberts (his NBA stock dropped considerably after this season in my opinion).

We lost because of 12 missed free-throws. VCU's pressure wore us down. All in all, we lost this game like we've been losing games all season long.

It was such a frustrating season, but at least the bandwagoners jumped off. We'll be back next year.

Now I have to go to work and suffer amazing amounts of abuse from people who hate Duke, but don't even watch the games.

Duke's starting 5 was older than UNC's , Texas's and Kansas's and they all had great seasons. If you hadn't made that half court shot at the buzzer to beat VT at the beginning of the yr and then handed the game at Clemson
you wouldn't even had made the it to the dance.

Face it - you had a great run with players that stayed 4 yrs vs other teams that their talent left early. This years team sucks and it's over.1st rd exists in ACC and NCAA tourney's = LOSERS!

First of all, the VT buzzer beater from half court was last season by Sean Dockery, not on the team any more. The Clemson game was at Duke, and the game wasn't handed to Duke. When the clock malfunction occurred, Duke was up 3 with the ball, so it initially HELPED Clemson. I don't expect you to agree b/c you're a dUNCe fan.

And if 18-12 Stanford can make it to the dance, Duke wasn't even close to being left out. 6th place in the ACC will almost always make it these days.

We had a immature team this season, and no clutch scorers. McRoberts and Nelson sucked for the most part. They have the talent though. I hope you sleep on these guys next year, but we know that won't happen.... NO ONE SLEEPS ON DUKE!!

Call me when you run a streak of 9 straight sweet 16s and 170 weeks of being ranked.

And as for the Paulus being "owned" argument... who was the high scorer for the game, and who kept Duke from being pressed out of the building?

Wow... which of your "facts" to demolish first. I believe UConn was the number one ranked team going into last year's tourney and lost to one George Mason (who is from the same conference as VCU btw). That team consisted of Rudy Gay, Marcus Williams, Josh Boone, Hilton Armstrong, Denham Brown, Rashad Anderson. And that's not a choke?

When was the last championship Illinois won? I'll help you out... think Philadelphia Eagles.

Maryland's won one, Michigan State won in '79 with Magic, and in 2000.

When you talk about top 5 championship teams... you have UCLA with 11 (including 10 in 12 years in the 60s and 70s), Kentucky 7, Indiana 5, UNC 4, and Duke with 3 (all in the last 15 years). Number of Final Fours, Duke is third behind UCLA and UNC.

Here's a telling stat... in total tourney appearances, Duke's not in the top 6... UK, UCLA, UNC, KU, IU, and Louisville are top 6. But total tourney wins, Duke is now 4th... was tied w/ UCLA until yesterday... with 85. Chokers? Don't make me laugh. The real answer is just that there are more Duke haters.... Just like the Boys.

There was a poll on ESPN the other day that asked why people didn't like the Dallas Mavericks. Number 1 reason, Mark Cuban. Number 2.... because of the Dallas Cowboys. Some people's hate is completely irrational... just sayin
