anyone hear Mickey talk about Ken Norton the year he tore his bicep and returned in same year and played pretty well? They massaged the bicep muscle down (that had curled up like fruit roll up). Once they massaged his bicep down...they would then tape it on game day. Now that's some old school football right there.

In that instance you would have little to no power in the arm re flexing the arm. It has to be attached to the bone in order to do work. If it is partially torn then you'd risk tearing it further (the belly of the muscle and/or tear it off the bone). This may be outdated some but you can be better off with it detached from the bone.

I believe his was detached at bottom of bicep muscle (which isn't as severe as detached at top - near shoulder). They did mention he basically played with one arm but was still effective.

Two heads and one insertion. And yes if it rolls up then it was from the insertion not origin.

Ken Norton with one arm was still better than 90% of the LBs in the NFL back in the day.........................he was old school, kinda like Ronnie Lott..................those guys would literally cut off a body part to keep playing.............LOL

Mickey mentioned Kenny Norton on TC. He said it matters at what spot it tears. But Kenny's was at the lower part of the arm and rolled up. They "massaged" it until they unrolled it and taped it down. He played MLB that year (1993) and it was his last year of his rookie contract so he was hitting free agency.

Best defensive player out there today and pretty much all season. This really stings.

Lets not over-exaggerate. He has not been the best defensive player "pretty much all season."

He's played well, and he was everywhere last night, but come on.

It's a forum. Nobody said anything had to be relevant to whatever was quoted. Furthermore, you are certainly not the relevancy police. If the mods so determine, it will be moved. Otherwise...how about you heed your own advice and stay on topic please.

Over exaggerate? So where would you rank him? The only person who you could say has probably played better than him is Scandrick. But being that Durant was asked to play out of position and increased his play? When he's been healthy he's been one of our best players on defense if not the best. I don't see how that's a over exaggeration. Not saying we can't win without him or anything like that but at WORST he's been the 2nd or 3rd best player on defense. I'll listen to your argument if you feel he's been worse.
