News: Durant Tries Will As Cowboys Evaluate McClain

When Durant was being interviewed during the Raven's game, I sensed his mood was pretty somber. There's likely not much doubt he already had strong suspicions that Rolando was about to be awarded the MLB spot out from under him. I really wasn't at all disappointed at all hearing of this but it seemed fairly obvious by Durant's body language that he was feeling dejected. Certainly can't say as I blame for that, since he'd been doing well in the middle by all reports. We'll see how it goes at WLB. Think he'll be ok, tho.

Who would've guessed 3 months ago that we'd be looking at a starting corp of linebackers that doesn't include Lee OR Carter?

Strange how things play out sometimes, but it's really not looking good for Carter. I had high hopes for that dude.

Guessing we're going to end up rolling with Durant, McClain, Wilber in the base? That's what it's starting to look like.

I'm hoping for the best but damn this front 7 sure has a lot of "????". We'll start to get some answers soon enough.

I would also say they are also underestimating Wilber at the Sam

The play of Wilber at SAM is pretty interesting, actually. For a guy who had no home and for whom I had zero expectations just a year ago, he's made himself a home as a starter on this roster out of nowhere. And he's playing fairly well in that capacity, too, especially considering he's got some pass rush ability, too.

It's literally got more questions than answers. Heading into dress rehearsal week, and after we made changes to add some stability by getting rid of the injury-prone veterans. Crazy.

In my opinion, I'm just as surprised with Wilber's emergence at LB as I am with Carter's lack of progress.

Hopefully Wilber pans out. We're getting thin at LB especially now that Holloman looks out of the picture entirely.

Regardless of what happens during these last 2 preseason games, I can honestly say that I can't remember a year where the defense was this big of a question mark heading into week 1. The only area I have a good read on is the secondary. Who the hell knows how the rest will shake out.

It's like a grab-bag full of dog turds and ribbon-candy. You're not sure what you're going to get. Worst case, yuck. Best case, well, I guess it's better than a dog turd. :)

If Durant has been playing well in the Mike position why not leave him there? Unless Carter is really stinking it up? Honestly, what this defense needs is continuity. Leave him in the middle where he is finding success. You don't go fix what isn't broken. Especially when this defense has so many question marks to start the season.

They are busy wildcatting trying to strike gold with a trash heep treasure at MLB. I agree that they need continuity, especially at mlb.

Am I the only one who thinks Wilber is being a bit overrated? It is my hope that Carter wins the strong side job from him.

Carter is really stinking it up which is sad because I had high hopes for him.

He is still not confident while playing the pass and not aggressive enough to play the run.

I hope the light turns on for him soon because he has tons of talent but time is running out.
