If we didn't draft Spencer last year, we would be looking for a Spencer like player in the draft this year. Plus, the selection if we didn't go after Spencer would probably have been Aaron Ross. Also, we have an extra 1st out of that trade down last year. So you have to include that in the equation.

It appears only a few are grasping this concept.

Nice post.

I think Spencer and the 22nd pick are more valuable.....assuming Spencer pans out.

If he does, we'll have to edge rushers to compliment each other for the next decade (assuming we decide to resign both).

The thing is....Bowe looks like he is going to become a dominant WR....someone who will command double teams. Which, when Owens does hang 'em up, we'll need.

I'll take Spencer and the 22nd pick...and hope Spencer and whomever we draft become two legitimate starters for us, long term.

We get it.

For every player we have drafted in the past, there was someone better who we could have picked.

Do you guys just like being hopelessly unsatisfied or what?

:hammer: Spencer hands down...

Thank you moderator - whoever you are - for correcting Dwayne Bowe's name for me. That irritated me to no end.

As for those who think this is a "useless" topic, you can simply bypass it and move on to another topic.

The beauty of this forum is that we can hash and rehash topics and find out where individual posters stand on given issues.

I like reading strong opinions (and silly ones for that matter if nothing more than for chuckles) and well-thought-out arguments and positions, and you don't get that if you simply assume that something is so clear-cut it doesn't need to be asked.

Thanks for everyone who participated in this thread. :)

I'll take Spencer it's A LOT harder in this league to find a pass rusher than a WR. Plus Ellis is no spring ckicken.

You are quite correct sir. The thing was if Dallas kept the pick they were looking at either Ross (Who went to the Giants instead) or Meacham.

You'll notice, from this season, Meacham didn't play a single down, all year, cause of injury. He was inactive for the entire season.
I don't think that's true. I think it was rumored to be either Spencer or Bowe.

As for the OP:

1. The choice should be Spencer and the '08 #22 vs. Bowe.
2. There are no Spencer-like players in this draft.
3. There are Bowe-like receivers in this draft.

It was and still is a no brainer. And I agree with all you guys about Spencer being a stud. We are going to be a terror rushing the passer next year.

Yes, Anthony could play OLB in a 3-4 defense, but I believe that if you want him to impact in his first year, just let him put his hand down and rush the passer....Will Anthony eventually be a good OLB in a 3-4 defense? Yes, but his impact for your team is when he rushes the passer .... Anthony will eventually be one of the better OLB’s in a 3-4 defense, but for his first two years, just let him put his hand down and rush the passer.

I don't quite get what the guy's trying to say here. Maybe if he'd just repeat it with slightly different words, I'd understand better.
