Being a Houston Cougar I've seen a lot of Harris in recent years, and imho getting him in the sixth rd is a steal. The kid can flat out play.

I hate to see Dwayne go to the cowboys. I have seen every game in his four year career, and he is a great player. Great slot reciever who is good with the ball in his hands. Might not be the most physically gifted reciever out there, but he makes up for it with his toughness and work ethic. Has no fear of going over the middle and take the big hits. Also brings in a great return man.

I'm going to hate to root against him for years to come.

Mel Kiper raves about Cowboys' sixth-rounder, Dwayne Harris

With the 11th pick of the sixth round, 176th overall, the Dallas Cowboys selected wide receiver/kick returner Dwayne Harris of East Carolina.

ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper calls Harris "arguably the best pick the Cowboys have made in the last couple days. He can help you in so many ways. You can put him in the slot. He's a nightmare matchup." He did have some costly drops, Kiper noted.

Kiper likes Harris' versatility and being a veteran of the college wars. "He'll be a great pick for the Dallas Cowboys."

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said of Harris that "we like what he does for our football team," citing his intangible traits and the type of player the Cowboys want.

Garrett's yardstick for what all the first six picks do: "the measurables, the right kind of guys and good football players."

Jason Garrett gains another wildcat weapon. :laugh2:

He looks like he has good hands and pulls the ball quickly into his body. He has nice lower body strength as well.

He looks like a great addition to this offense. Perfect for the slot. I have no doubt that he can get open w/ Dez and Miles on the outside. I like where Red is going w/ this offense. We are so much more versatile now.

You don't have to. You could leave the dark side and come towards the light.

I was just going to say, this is a slot guy everyone wanted

He looks like a practice squad player to me. Hopefully he gets some time to practice in the offseason and can come on to ST some time this year. I wouldn't expect to see him catching many passes ever, he's slower than Hurd.

Only thing that concerns me is that he broke the same foot once in 2008 and again in 2010.

Another guy with an injury history. Erg.

I'll inject this and apologize if someone else has done so already.

Jason Garrett persuaded Jimmy Robinson to leave his Super Bowl winning wide receiver squad for Dallas. Any prospect worth drafting will have gotten some input from him as well. That should count as somewhat of a positive for Harris' selection.

Love this pick. I've been wanting the Cowboys to draft a slot WR with dynamic RAC ability like this forever. They needed some variation in the skillsets of their WRs, they all look the same. If you want a comparison, look at Devone Bess.
