Dwayne Harris, WR **MERGE**

Way to much slow motion in those videos. Becomes painful to watch.

He looks great. After watching the second video, I was beginning to think the only route he ran was bubble screens. :laugh2:

One of Red's favorites as well.

Wouldn't mind seeing him thrown right into the #3 spot behind Miles and Dez. Roy can be the pad-boy if he's still on the team.

Saw he ran a 4.38 at his pro day. Not a totally believable time but faster than we thought.

Pro days are almost always inflated...imagine that.
But that's a nice time for sure.
Look, he's not Desean Jackson speedwise , but some here are making it sound like he's slow. He's not at all slow. And compared to successful NFL slot receivers, his speed is more than fine.

The pick of a WR looked like a high fast ball but ended up a curve right over the plate, Dallas hit the ball outta the park with this choice.

You get a natural football player, a return man, a potential slot WR and a burner with speed all in one pick. Though the Teddy Williams prospect is very intruiging with super upside and OTree flashed nice potential this kid Harris has "it", the WR corp in Dallas including Roy Williams should be hearing the footsteps.

I think people are sleeping on Holley but I wouldn't put it past him to be a pre-season stand out this year.

He is probably going to take Hurds spot this year as a Special Teams Ace @ receiver.

Sounds more like it. That's a good slot receiver time.

But even then, it's the route-running, hands, and toughness that set slot guys apart. Exhibit A would be Wes Welker...4.55 time, but he is as good as it gets in the slot due to his football skills.

Slot WRs rarely, if ever, run a go routes so their 40 time is rather meaningless to me. What matters is their short area quickness and football IQ. Welker had a 4.61 40 yard dash, but he tested out exceptional on his short shuttle and 3 cone. Harris had a mediocre 20 yard shuttle but an exceptional 3 cone, so it's a bit of mixed bag.

Last one .......

Dwayne's ECU bio ......

http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/ecu/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/HarrisDwayneECUBio07-10.pdf

Dwayne played in two totally different offenses during his ECU career. Skip Holtz offense was predicated on running the ball and controlling the clock. He loved the bubble screen. short slants, and oout routes. Occassionally taking a shot down the field. Having Chris Johnson in the backfield was a huge factor.

In came Ruffin McNeil in 2010 bringing with him the Texas Tech's Air Raid offense. This really opened things up for Dwayne and crew. Dwayne amased over 3000 receiving yards as a 4 year starter. He's the real deal who's tuff as nails.

One more video ...... I failed to remove the music from the last 1 minute so it gets loud.

Welker's short shuttle (4.02) was pretty good, but his 3-cone (7.09) was for from exceptional.

10-yard dash in another time that is indicative for potential success in the slot. Harris was right about average at 1.58.

Was rewatching the senior bowl and this guy was a more than willing blocker.

He'll make some good blocks on those outside running plays.

I only got to the 3rd quarter but neither has done much but I liked how Harris played hard even though he wasn't seeing the ball.

He looks like a practice squad player to me. Hopefully he gets some time to practice in the offseason and can come on to ST some time this year. I wouldn't expect to see him catching many passes ever, he's slower than Hurd.

He's got 4.5 speed. That's faster than Hurd. We'll see how he does. I don't expect as much as some others but he's got a chance to make the team.
