I'd love to see Joe Adams on this team. Makes too much sense.

IMO, he has to work hard this offseason or it just won't happen. We're stacked with WRs and our camp is going to be tough.

I think he'll make the roster and be our 4th/5th WR. The one edge he has on the other project WRs on the roster is he's a legitimate slot WR. Now it's a matter of him proving he's good enough to produce at this level. This was a highly productive WR at the college level. Let's see how he does given a real offseason.

He plays great special teams and dude catches the ball when it's thrown to him. He was targeted 7 times and caught all 7. He has heart and makes plays when they're needed, how can you tell a guy like that he has no place on your team?

Wayne02;4423747 said:That's why I would like for one of these guys to show something on returns as well as being a cover man. And yes, Holley does have a lot of heart, but his upside is just not very high. He's the oldest WR on the roster at 28, and I would like to see some of the younger guys with more upside on the roster.
The best man will win though, and whoever ends up on the roster, they will have earned it, barring any major injuries.
Wayne02;4424108 said:Holley's special team abilities are overrated. He's just another guy out there. He is the oldest WR on this team at 28, and he has no upside. Yes, he caught all 7 passes that were thrown to him, but there is a reason why he was only targeted 7 times for the whole year.
The coaches didn't even think enough of him to overtake Ogletree. Holley has a lot of heart, I'll give him that, but this team needs young talent and Holley does not fit that description.

It took almost the whole season, he finally started looking comfortable and adjusted to the speed of the NFL in the last few weeks. When scouting players, one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is someone who hasn't made the speed adjustment yet, and what really sucks is there is really nothing you can do with that player. A lot of players never make the adjustment and are out of the league in two years. So if nothing else, Dwayne made that adjustment, so he has as good a shot as any of the other young receivers in this class.
Personally, I love his ability to break tackles, and think he has the potential to be a great slot WR. He has all the skills you need, he just has to put it all together.
He's not a guy you want out on the numbers, he's like Welker in that regard, if you put him out on an island with a starting corner that has the sidelines close by as an extra defender, he'll struggle. He's purely a slot guy.
Harris is an entirely different type of player than either Radway or Holmes. But you are right in that he will have competition for a roster spot.Wayne02;4423633 said:He's still a young player, but he'll have some competition this year though, with Radway coming back as well as Holmes whom the Cowboys are very high on.

The slot is a whole different animal. That's why a guy like Welker was so overlooked. Until he was played in the right role, it was hard for people to see what they had.
Even Cruz was that way to some degree.
The slot is complicated and, in many schemes, requires the receiverr to make on-the-spot reads. Most players don't just walk into that role and succeed. Welker is a master at it and, according to the Giants, Cruz was amazing at making the adjustments (besides being so talented).
My question with Harris is whether or not he has it in him to make those reads, be on the saem page as the QB, and mkae the NFL-level adjustments required. A full offseason should help, but the jury is still out.
Oh, and I don't see how as 6th rounder who actually made it on the field some can ever be called a "wasted pick". He was hurt early and great surprise named Laurent Robinson showed up.
As a kick returner, he averaged nearly 29 yards per attempt--so one of the better averages in the league, but with a small sample size.
Harris may not turn out as hoped but the vast majority of 6th rounders don't.
We'll see.....
