i've seen him in mock drafts going anywhere from 8-25.

If he falls to us should we consider him?

I know some people say he doesnt look that fast, but he is a long strider, and most long striders are faster then you think.

for ex: Vince Young, Marcus Colston, Randy Moss.

thoughts?

I really dont see him falling.

I'd rather defense 1st round anyway and now with Phillips that is almost a definite.

There are plenty of other WRs worth 2nd and 3rd round picks.

If hes the best player available then yes.

I know a lot of people are crying about offense and we should pick a certain position but I just want one of the best 22 players in this draft.

If Reggie Nelson is the best player then take him... If its Ted Ginn Jr then take him...

Just dont get cute in round 1.

He won't fall that far, I would bet. I don't mind taking offense in the first, though.

I would take him. I think Jerry will surprise a lot of people and go offense in the 1st round or trade down.

I'd take him in a heart beat. He's a great route runner, he's tall, Romo could just throw it up to the rafters of Texas Stadium and let him go catch it and comes from a winning program, which can be a nice intangible. Although folks say his speed may not be great, I think he can make up for it in precise route running and his size, especially in todays NFL rules where the DB can't get away with anything.:)

i would DEF. take jarrett if available..glenn and owens in their 30's..chances are either owens or glenn won't be with the Cowboys in 08' and this is the deepest WR draft ive seen in a while, jarrett is a playmaker...plus my buddy roomed with him and supposedly a high-character guy

He won't fall to 22 unless something is wrong with him. We won't go QB at 22 either.

Its not discussed much on this board but I hate the fact that we didn't consider Hester. He was a great KR/PR guy in college, and everyone knew he was a playmaker. He was no Skyler Green by any means.

Which leads me to the guy we drafted instead of him. No more Anthony Fasano's please, guys that we 'think' will fit our scheme. That two TE set went straight to crap once BP realized that we could spread teams out and move the ball down the field.

I think it's a good idea to go with the BPA.

If the BPA is Jarrett, then we should take him.

It's always risky to draft for need.

What needs do we really have?

WR, OL, DL, LB, S?

Right now, I'd say that our OL is the weakest position....but it was our defense that really let us down at the end of the year.

If he runs a 4.5 he might fall a little

I've watched Rice play many times, he usually is double covered and still managed to shred most of the SEC's best secondaries with awful QBs. Great leaping ability, could've played college basketball, will probably run around a 4.45. He'll still be on the board at 22, exact same size as Randy Moss 6'4 205 but much more physical.

Everytime I watched him his play reminded me of Tory Holt from the Rams with Roy Williams from the Lions body.

I think he is going to be a very good NFL receiver.

In my opinion hes very polished for a College receiver.

Yup, Jarrett is a great route runner with great hands. As a USC fan, I've seen some amazing catches by Jarrett and without a doubt his height and reach is a huge advantage. I'd take him in a heartbeat but I don't see him falling to #22.

We have to rebuild the OL.
Battles are won and lost up front.
One of the reasons Philly beat us in December, with lesser talent was their OL play.
One big part of this team's success in the 90's was the superior play of the OL.

Yeah those hands, I forgot to mention that, and alot of impressive plays against that tough defense from Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Even if he did fall, I don't think Jerry would be smart enough to take him, he ALWAYS picks defense in the 1st.
