that's a shame.

but we all should think of this sort of thing when we root for a Sean Taylor conviction, etc.

not as extreme certainly but just a step or two away.

What's wrong with rooting for a conviction if we think someone is guilty? And you are totally off base with your comment: wishing a just conviction on someone who's guilty and wishing death on someone because they play for your rival don't even live in the same state let alone the same block.

I guess that goes to show you that mental Illness has franchise preference. I hope you realize that he couldn't possibly speak for all Eagle fans. I hope Davis rcovers.
It doesn't bother me. The guy is an idiot. I take people for what they are, if they are an idiot I call them that.

Davis will likely be cut now, more so, if he can't participate in training camp, and maybe still because he is replaceable, and Bill told him and others to stay out of trouble.

What kind of Family Reunion do you drive home from at 5 a.m.? They story seems fishy and this being the second time he has been shot raises all kinds of red flags.

Don't get me wrong, I hope the individual is ok, and it sounds like he is. But this is a Dallas Cowboys, no one person is bigger than this franchise, and he is casting some bad light on the organization with his being in the wrong place at the wrong time deal. I mean how many people can claim that they were shot 2 times just by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Taylor's alleged crimes carried a 47 year maximum prison sentence. The evidence was weak and circumstantial, and there was no reason to think he was guilty. The plea-bargain he agreed to is evidence to that fact.

So no, its not the same, but 47 years in jail is pretty much a lifetime, no? Especially based on extremely weak evidence.

No it isn't...

The fact is that a lot of cases get pleaded out. Saves money, time, etc. That he was offered a plea bargin dosen't mean he was innocent or that they lacked evidence. The fact that he took the plea does in some respect show that he was guilty...

You must not be familiar with the plea-bargain. Its a slap on the wrist, and he doesn't have to admit to guilt. The plea-bargain was accepted so that Taylor will miss no more on the field time with the team, not because they had to. If this had gone to court, Taylor would have easily walked.

The evidence they had was the word of two criminals, who later were caught stealing another ATV. That's it. Weak.

Not trying to throw a discordant note into this, but OJ was guilty.

Not only the innocent "walk."

I don't need the details of the plea. If that is the case then he would have gone to court. As it is he didn't and took a plea. A get out of jail free card. As I said because he was offered a plea didn't mean the evidence wasn't there or wasn't sufficent to prosecute.

I hate it when they do that. Some people never grow up, and they were probably rotten kids to begin with. I won't even try to defend the Eagles fanbase, in this case where there is smoke there's fire, the reputation is deserved. Unfortunately there exists a subculture in our fanbase where this type of talk is thought of as tough or cool. Some fans try to fight the image or deny it's validity, while others embrace it, I just act for myself and don't give a damn what people think of the others - they're outside my control.

Thanks TE77. Every team has some fans like that and thankfully every team has some fans like you. Thanks for posting.

as soon as i saw the name of the thread i knew it was goin to be bout either the eagles fans being happy about this or wishin it was one of our star players that got shot instead. these people just dont have any class and ah... they just make u so angry. people wonder why life is like it is now with so much violence, well people like this guy show u why. i guess i shouldnt be surprised since i lost all respect for philly fans when u know they booed Michael the game he got the career ending injury

Can't speak for all Eagle fans, but I'm speaking confidently about the Phoenix Talon. Don't want star Cowboy (or any other franchise) players nor scrub players, getting injured on the field or off the field ....if you feel every Eagle fans feels that way, you must really experience some serious anger issues that you need to deal with.

I don't even joke that way! Feel the way you want to, but don't you dare try to place me in that neat little box you call "eagles fans," that wish harm to opponent players simply to raise our chances of winning category! Now, I am an
Eagles fan ...but I take pride in knowing that you feel as much about your team as I do mine. I don't believe in all this battery throwing, shooting players nonsense.

Be careful not to stigmatize people into a "one category fits all," package.

Bottom line ...I wish Davis a speedy recovery and hope he gets out there and picks up where he left off.

I was stating a simple fact. I hadn't seen one Cowboy fan post that he hoped Taylor was okay. Not a single one. That is a fact. I still haven't seen it. You want to call that pre-judging an entire fan base, well....you're entitled to your opinion I suppose.

I changed my sig. But whatever...you want to continue to play the hypocrite and pre-judge me based on my sig then whatever...its all good. I'm sure there are posters on here who would back me up as a solid/respectable poster on ES.

When I first read the story, it was written that Taylor had not been injured. Why would I voice concern over Taylor's health when I already knew that he was OK.
