It's just honestly how I feel...many sports writers and coaches called him the most accurate passer they had ever seen. The guy was #1 overall for a reason...I just don't think that he got to showcase his full talents as a passer.

Aikman was leading a run first offense 2 decades ago with a back in Emmitt Smith who was on his way to becoming the NFL's all-time leading rusher. Troy could have put up huge numbers if the offense he played in was predicated on it. He put up over 450 yards in a game once. Few QB's during Aikman's era passed for over 4000 yards which has become common in todays game. Aikman had all the tools to be a prolific passer.

He had a strong arm and could hang in the pocket making precision throws under duress. Fans who claim QB's from decades ago couldn't play in todays game based on their career numbers or that Troy Aikman wasn't all that great because of his numbers really expose themselves as uneducated football fans who probably haven't been following the game very long.

I would love to see Dez Bryant with a QB like Eli. He gives his WR's chances to make plays, but hey 6 INT's and a 5-5 record is too good to pass up, right?

As opposed to 17 INTs and a 4-6 (soon to be 4-7) record?

Dez would be too busy knocking the football out of CBs hands in order to prevent INTs to put up decent numbers with Eli Manning.

Victor Cruz has done okay with him, and if Eli Manning can turn Cruz from a nobody into a star receiver, what do you think Dez could do.

Rather have 6 ints with a 5-5 record than 17 ints with a 4-6 record . Everyone knows romo is a better qb . No one is making you love the cowboys go root for Eli if you love his sorry *** so much

Regular season stats won't mean much in 10 years when we evaluate/compare the careers of Eli and tony. Eli will be put on a pedestal while tony will be minimized. Barring some miracle playoff run by Tony.

Regular season stats don't matter. I'd rather have 2 Super Bowl rings. I hate Eli, but in ten years when we compare the careers of Eli and tony. Eli will have the upper hand. He plays well when his team needs him the most.

I disagree any true football fan ( who can evaluate the game ) knows romo is superior . Even Amani Toomer said it . Winning superbowls is not the only way to be a football immortal . I remember Marino , Fouts , Moon and Tarkenton just fine and they are far better than Eli or Bradshaw will ever be .

If Eli retired today he is not a hall of famer .

He's not a HOFer. But neither is tony. Ive always thought tony is better, but the knock of him is he has only one playoff win. Eli beat the best team of this era twice to win 2 superbowls. People will be able to minimize what tony has done, but the rings can't be ignored.

I think in ten years, only cowboy fans would say tony is head and shoulders better than Eli. Anyone else would say its a toss up and Eli has 2 rings so most would say Eli.

Eli is having a bad year. He has 2 rings. That trumps everything, but wait..Romo is the best QB in the league....

No, rings do not trump everything.

Timmy Smith has a ring. He set a rushing record with 204 yds in a Super Bowl. He has 602 yards for his entire career.

All a ring means is a player had a chance to play in the Super Bowl and play on the winning team. Any player is still the same player he is/was whether he has rings or no rings.

Rings DO NOT trump everything.

Ok - One day Eli will be in the Hall of Fame. Romo will be with his trophy wife.

Just like KJJ, you got nothing. All you E-Lie lovers do is bring up rings and ignore his entire body of work. It takes a team to win a Super Bowl. 52 other guys along with She-Lie got rings as well.

Lots of guys have rings. Lots of guys that arent great nor elite have rings. Rings are a very small part of the equation.

Bring something real to the table.

Timmy Smith has a ring. Timmy Smith set a Super Bowl rushing record. Yet Timmy Smith only has 602 yds rushing for his career. A ring says very little.

Eli will keep throwing it up even if we intercept one or two,he knows we cannot sustain drives and he can hit us for big plays. The more i think about this the less confident i am of this game.

Timmy Smith was an RB not a QB. LOL You think mentioning an RB is going to bolster your argument?
