Ya' know Timbo, I give you a little credit for sticking around, even though you're getting everything you deserve from these guys.
I also give the moderators of this board credit for being decent sports and letting you hang. Which is ALOT more than I can say about moderators on several Eagle boards I visit. I say nothing more or nothing less than what you share here, and I've been banned from every board every year the last 5 years. Especially "Igglephans.com". Just a bunch of spoiled brats who take their ball and go home the first time a stiff wind shows up. Somehow I get back on @ the beginning of every season, but it doesn't last.
Typical bullies. The loudest, biggest mouth, most vulgar and threatening are the quickest to silence anyone who doesn't think the Eagles are the lie they perpetuate................that they're somehow equal to Dallas, the Skins and Giants in the NFC East.
They're not. No matter what happens this Monday Night. You're going back and forth here like you're on equal footing with Cowboy fans. You're not. It's empty rhetoric and flaming because there's no basis in fact for your enthusiasm for your Eagles. Eagle fans must also enjoy dead trees and road kill based on their penchant for what they cling to.

OT, Skaven - what do you think of Dawkin's play this year. Is he washed up?
He has been inconsistent, but he sure had one hell of a ball game on Sunday.

Actually the Eagles have won the NFL championship three times I believe. Football didnt begin with the Super Bowl folks. That being said they do deserve all the misery they've had in recent times. And no way they come into our house and take the division on Christmas day. Another dissapointment for Eagles fans is coming. Romo is the answer and the difference now in this rivalry. Cowboys win 34-21.

I'm sure many Cowboy fans here would consider my welcoming you here, as condescending ...since I am an Eagles fan. So I'm I'm bound By the nature of my fandom to refrain.

However, I must say that for a new Cowboy's member to the Zone, I would be remiss not to give you a Hellofva lot of credit for football savvy you've shown in your very first post here. There are many fans here, who have been here much much Longer than you, who do not know that bit of information about the Eagles; or they remain in denial.

Spoken like a dedicated fan. Simply because I disagree with you, is no reason to deny you the right to your opinion.

Good posting ...I have a feeling you are going to make a name for yourself Here at the Zone.

PT, one question for my fellow Philadelphian. Why are you such an avid Zone poster? I'll be the first to admit this is a fantastic site, with largely good, knowledgeable dudes who are yes, majority Cowboy fans, but you have damn near 4,000 posts at a board where you're generally reviled. As for my own situation, I happen to have a brother and a best friend that are Cowboys fans, and I just joined this year to be able to dialogue with them a little on their team. I post only occasionally, and probably only posted a handful of times both before and after our game with them. This is the only other NFL teams board I belong to (although I'm on Philaphans.com who does have an Eagles board, but I love my other Philly teams) and I spend 97% of my time with my own peeps. I happen to share many of their utter hatred for the eagles myself, but that's another story. But you getting your pressure up is seemingly fruitless. They don't have to respect your team at all, but you're getting heated trying to push a boulder up a hill. I don't encourage trolling at all (I think the Saints fans clowned themselves last week) but it appears to me you're fighting a losing battle. Wish them a good game and keep it stepping fam. A lil trash talk never hurt anyone, but when in Rome at least fake like you can speak the language. God knows it takes everything I can to not spew hatred, and venom when I'm on the Eagles portion of Philaphans. Hey, Far be it for me to tell you where to post, but that's just my opinion.

Oohh!! very informed answer. I'm thru with you. You will be ignored until after the game.

Whooooaaaa! Just one dat-burn minute there "pardner." Timbo2st wasn't being disrespectful. Technically speaking, it's the Eagles, not Timbo2st that is going to play against the Cowboys.

In fact, Timbo2st gave you a correct response. Perhaps it was not the elaborate response you were looking for. Nevertheless, you seemed too eager to jump to the "ignore" button on this one ...sounded like you had already made up your mind that no response would have been sufficient.

Let me take a stab at your question ...

How are you going to stop the Cowboys Offense?

The only thing that I'm going to stop is ...being thirsty during the game - as I pop that Budweiser cap during the kickoff!

But seriously though, the Eagles defense is surely the component that we expect to thwart attempts by the Cowboy's offense to perpetrate into Eagles territory. I think our defense must apply just the right amount of pressure that the Saints gave you in your loss to them. Being mindful of screen plays, over the top, and designed run plays, our Linebackers must replicate what they did to the Giants against Tiki Barber.

Shutting down T.O. and Glenn may Not be an easy task. It depends on which TO will show up to play. If TO the professional athlete shows up, it could be a more difficult task than we bargained for. If TO is seeking revenge, he will not be focused on his game mentally ...that said, Dawkins may have something in store for him.

There's no question that the Cowboys have weapons, but will they show up? Will Romo have sufficient time to react to the pressure that Jim Johnsin will bring? And most importantly, is Romo able to perform in this type of high stakes game. You know this is probably one of the most important games that Romo has played (as starter) for the Cowboys. How will he react? If the Saints game (which was huge) is any indication ...this could turn out to be a very grinch-like holiday game (no pun intended ...may a little pun).

Your secondary is in suspect of late, and as was revealed in our first meeting against the Cowboys.

Now before you get too flustered, you didn't ask me what Our chances of winning was ...may I remind you that I am responding directly to your specific question. "Defense" is Not the only dynamics that will be used to stop the Cowboys. Our offensive team has placed points on the board in every game we've played. I see no reason why that we cannot match point like we did with the Giants.

Is that response a little more of what You were looking for?

I guess I've Been here close to 3 years now. When I arrived here, I wasn't as football savvy as I am Now ...I've learned from Cowboys fans. But for some reason, everyone thinks that I am just here on the Zone and No where else!? I'm a senior member on an Eagles Message board and I'm a moderator on an NFL Forum MB. In short, I'm an Eagles fan, an NFC-East fan, and a football fan. I'm looking forward to a very exciting playoff potential game, and enjoying an ice cold Budweiser and a Hoagie ...if you truly are from Philly, then you know it doesn't get much better than that!;)

I hope I'm not talking to an undercover troll! As for me ...my skin is unbelieveable thick as a result of being here. I learned how to post on Eagle boards as a result of being here. Some might look at that as my having "cut teeth" on the Zone! I don't mind the verbal abuse from time to time. Between times, I obtain a hellofalot of football knowledge. I learn from Cowboy fans as well as Eagle fans ...I've even learn a Little something about you. That's why I've taken the time to respond to you in this manner.;)

I seem to remember the Jax and TB games where the Eagles had major trouble scoring.

I cant wait until returns day when you come back to eat crow.

Only need one recipe.

Take dead Christmas Eagle and place in 400 degree oven.
Bake for 3 hours until black.
Remove from oven and let cool for 30 min.
Serve to cocky Eagles fan with a fork and a cold Bud.

Tastes just like Crow!!!

Get real, Timbo2st never says anything that is not disrespectful!

The TO that showed up at Atlanta will show up this week, book it!!! Your DBs might want to wear their face shields.

Ok your defense is going to have to pick their poison. If you commit a safety up to stop the run, Dallas can burn you at both wide-outs and TE. Lito Sheppard can't cover TG one on one. Glenn has his number. If you don't bring up a safety expect to see Barber and Jones run down your throat a come out your butt. If you blitz, Romo can buy time and burn you all over the field. You can't just blitz to a spot, like you did Bledsoe. You will need to blitz with containment in mind, this will slow some off your agression. I don't think your front four alone can put on enough pressure. I get the fealing you gonna play your game, so you will die by the blitz. The key for the dallas offense is to not turn the ball over. You have won your last two games that way. So Romo may have to take a few sacks instead of throw it up. He is a gamer, as your will see on sunday.

Defensively, you are correct, our DBs have been making mental errors. I'm worried about this. However, mental errors can be corrected. Fortunately, Garcia has a sissy arm. I don't think he can throw the long ball on us (unless it's a blown coverage). His long pass can float on him. This will neutralize some of the poor coverage we have had at the Safety position this year. Most of your points in the first game came off attacking an inexperienced rookie safety. Hopefully he has grown and can get some payback.

You think the Saints game was bigger than the Indy game or the recent Cowboys game in the Meadowlands?

In light of those two games, the Saints game was far from huge.
