Let me start off recognizing the Dallas Cowboys for busting butt against those Colts - I had a strong felling you'd take them, and I was rooting for the NFC-East team (whoever that may have been)!

The Giants are starting to slide because of some major injuries to key players, the Commanders are in a turmoil, and the Eagles lost their number one QB (again)! The Cowboys are the healthiest In the NFC-East and theoretically should take the NFC-East. You must really feel good about having a solid team especially during this partically time in the regular season - I envy that.

But the Eagles are still alive and kicking (at least in better shape than the Commanders ...no disrespect SaT). You'd better believe that anytime the number 2 QB (that'll change) in NFL passing yardage goes down, it's going to change the production of a team (hell, we found that Out last year!).

But I still think we could pull out of this season with a Better standing than 2005. Primarily because aside from Garcia, the Eagles are healthy. We still have the same guns in Westbrook, Stallworth, LJ SMith, and Reggie Brown (if we can only get them to hold Onto the ball). Same OL/DL ...true, different QB; which could make a Big difference.

Last year we were 6-10 in the overall 2005 standings ...take a look

NFC East -Team....W...L...

N.Y. ....11...5...
Skins....10...6..
Dallas.....9...7
Philly......6...10

Yeah, what a difference a year can make for everyone. I'll tip my hat to the Dallas Cowboys for remaining consistent. But the Eagles are already 5-5 looking to tie last years record going into the game against the Colts (the Pissed-off Colts compliments of the Cowboys).

Of the remaining 6 games, I can't imagine the Eagles losing all of those games; we play the Giants, Commanders, and the Cowboys again. I still think we have enough to beat the Commanders, and maybe tweak by the Giants, but I honestly believe that given the solid Look of the Cowboys, we'll probably end up splitting with you in the overall this year.

Down? Never!

its jeff garcia man. you guys will go .500 over the next 6 games. 8-8 is certainly an improvement.

you certainly will compete for the division next year.

but that schedule...whew. rough. if you had a healthy mcnabb I figure you could go 4-2. but garcia.

cowboys gave him a 2.1 qb rating a couple years ago.

he isnt terrible. but he isnt mcnabb.

still this eagles team improved over last years.

i dont think we have anything set in stone either. i could be wrong. If we beat tampa bay we could be in a really good position though.

Nice post PT.

I agree that you can finish better than the 6 - 10 you finished last year. You have 2 very difficult games coming up with the Colts and then the Panthers. I don't see you winning either one of those games, but I could see you going 3-1 to finish the season with your only loss in that stretch coming against the Cowboys. I see your club finishing 8-8 which when you consider losing McNabb and some of the tough losses you have had makes for a solid season IMO.

I can also easily see the Giants dropping 4 of their last 6. They should prevail against the Titans and Commanders, but I see them losing to the Cowboys, Panthers, Eagles and the Saints. This would also put them at 8-8 on the season.

The Commanders on the other hand could finish out the rest of the season without winning another game. They have a fairly tough road ahead of them and their team is in complete disarray. With a rookie QB and a defense that hasn't lived up to any of its hype, I can certainly see them finishing the year at 3-13.

The Cowboys on the other hand are going to run the table, I already crawled out onto the limb with Hos on this so I will stick with it. They finish 12-4 leaving the NFC East finishing as follows:

Cowboys 12-4
Giants 8-8
Eagles 8-8
Commanders 3-13

If this is the case, I see Gibbs leaving the game once again, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Coughlin lose his job in NY. Of course this could all be wishful thinking on my end, and I will be the first to admit that I have my homer glasses planted firmly on. LOL I do think that the Cowboys are in the best shape of all the teams in the NFC East, not just for remainder of this season, but I believe they have a strong nucleus of young players that will ensure that this team is competitive again for a few more years. All in all it is "fun" to be Boys fan once again, and I look forward to the NFC East’s return as the strongest conference in the NFL.

Garcia cannot make things happen like McFlab could. The eagles O line will not be able to protect him. you still have nothing that looks like a real running game. Nite nite.

Actually I'll take any help I can get from the Eagles--so long as it is help.

Agree Eagles aren't going to beat the Colts (can only imagine what the ticked-off Colts do to the Eagles) nor the Panthers, but Skins are very vulnerable and an Eagle victory over the Giants would give you 2 more victories uping your record to at least 7 wins and incidently helping us out at the same time. So I say, go Eagles, but we'll beat you when we play you in Dallas cause we will be ticked-off about how we played--what you did to us in Philly just a few short weeks ago.

Well I can't speak for others but I'm not counting Philly out just yet. I do think your team now has it's back to the wall and that wall could cave in at any time especially with Indy up next but until Philly is officially out of it I'll hold off on the funeral plans.

I think I am one of the few on this board that thinks McNabb is all he is hyped up to be.

That said, replacing him with Garcia is a huge loss for your team. Without the mobility that McNabb provides and the threat he provides your offense will suffer greatly. Garcia just cannot get it done anymore. I am not counting them out, but they have one foot in if you ask me.

The Eagles' best bet is to try to catch lightning in a bottle and start Feeley. At worst, they know what their QB situation looks like for next year and, at best, they can get back in this race now that the Giants look like they are falling off the map. You could also do us a big favor by knocking off the Panthers and Giants over the next month. :D

Eagles are 5-5 and I have always said McNabb is overrated. The 6th playoff spot is still a possibility.
