I don't think so ...I'm showing you (as a Cowboys fan who thinks all Eagles fans have issues), that I'm sticking with my team regardless of the adversities that may currently exist.

You may be a Cowboys fan, but those Cowboy fans (or fans from any franchise) worth their weight In salt know that the true essence of a fan comes out ...not during good times, but during "hard" times!

I'm not your fly-by-Zone Eagles fan. I read and retain personalities on this and Other boards - some, I've known for years. Some fans (and you know who you are) used to whine about about Bledsoe, players dropping balls or unable to make a field Goal, so much until Parcells finally felt your tears. The point is that those type of fans (and you know who your are) ride High on the bandwagon while everything is good, but once soemthing goes wrong that type of fan (and you know who you are) starts crying, coplaining and calling their own team names!

Don't throw stones ...even if you live in a steel house!

It's OK to stick with your team, but they were 5-4 with McNabb and now you believe they are going to fly high without him. It is one thing to have hope, that is why fans keep watching, but to come on another teams board and proclaim they could fly high with a journeyman QB who has shown nothing in the past 3 years replacing their best player is a bit silly don't you think?

The odds are very slim on that one there!

Sure they do, SP...!

The eagles cheap front office always throws in a few pounds of salt when they sign a player....it saves them money so the "Gold Standard" can exist!

Listen, McNabb didn't play on defense. We had no problems scoring - never did! One of the main things we've done right from the start Is letting teams like the Giants get back into games. That has DEFENSE written all over it! Now I realize that we Need somone to deliver the ball, but Garcia should be able to accomplish that once he adjusts to the team.

It's the defense that I'm saying has the potential to start shutting down teams - they can do you ...they must if they want to stay in this mad race to the finish.

And what should suddenly change about the defense? They've played the weaker teams to this point and have played poorly. Kearse won't be back to help the pass rush and it's obvious they can't stop the run. What part of this equation will suddenly change?

Looks like the Eagles had just enough problems scoring to go 5-5 over the easiest part of their schedule. And their main catalyst on offense is now lost for the season, replaced by a has-been who has been quickly booted by his last two employers.

Garcia is a marginal talent who benefited from playing in a great offense with a great receiver in San Francisco. He's clearly been exposed in his two other stops.

Again, other than your hopes and dreams, where does this "defensive improvement" come from?

Because you hope it happens?

Let me start off recognizing the Dallas Cowboys for busting butt against those Colts - I had a strong felling you'd take them, and I was rooting for the NFC-East team (whoever that may have been)!

The Giants are starting to slide because of some major injuries to key players, the Commanders are in a turmoil, and the Eagles lost their number one QB (again)! The Cowboys are the healthiest In the NFC-East and theoretically should take the NFC-East. You must really feel good about having a solid team especially during this partically time in the regular season - I envy that.

But the Eagles are still alive and kicking (at least in better shape than the Commanders ...no disrespect SaT). You'd better believe that anytime the number 2 QB (that'll change) in NFL passing yardage goes down, it's going to change the production of a team (hell, we found that Out last year!).

But I still think we could pull out of this season with a Better standing than 2005. Primarily because aside from Garcia, the Eagles are healthy. We still have the same guns in Westbrook, Stallworth, LJ SMith, and Reggie Brown (if we can only get them to hold Onto the ball). Same OL/DL ...true, different QB; which could make a Big difference.

Last year we were 6-10 in the overall 2005 standings ...take a look

NFC East -Team....W...L...

N.Y. ....11...5...
Skins....10...6..
Dallas.....9...7
Philly......6...10

Yeah, what a difference a year can make for everyone. I'll tip my hat to the Dallas Cowboys for remaining consistent. But the Eagles are already 5-5 looking to tie last years record going into the game against the Colts (the Pissed-off Colts compliments of the Cowboys).

Of the remaining 6 games, I can't imagine the Eagles losing all of those games; we play the Giants, Commanders, and the Cowboys again. I still think we have enough to beat the Commanders, and maybe tweak by the Giants, but I honestly believe that given the solid Look of the Cowboys, we'll probably end up splitting with you in the overall this year.

Down? Never!

Are you trying to convince us or yourself?

Good post. No doubt the Eagles will now adjust offensively and play to the strengths of the new QB, whether that will be sufficient or not we'll see. I don't think the Eagles will win the division neither do I think any team will roll over them. Besides that any division game is usually up for grabs regardless of the win/losses. The NFC East probably has the best rivalry in the league.

The Cowboys and the Giants have their destinies in their own hands. The
Boys/Giants game in a couple of weeks could determine who wins the division. I realize that it is possible for the Eagles to come on but don't think it is probable.

My concern is the Cowboys have been so inconsistent, up and down, until we didn't know what team would show up in the past. Romo has given all of us new hope that along with the D maybe we will demonstrate some consistency the rest of this season.

P-T, I agree that your team should finish with a better record than last year, but playoffs are out of reach now.

When McNabb got injured a few years ago, they did well with backup QBs, but in a weak NFC East. They were also off to a good start that year.

This division is now out of reach for the Eagles, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them finish at 8-8.

when did they ever FLY? They have never even won a superbowl ;

They might "fly" in the Eagle sense of the word (playoff contenders) when they jettison Reid and McNabb.

Maybe early next decade? LOL.

chinch, I respect the accomplishments of your team, however, I don't envy your team because they've experienced the sweet taste of a Superbowl victory (5-times).

It's been so long now since your team has won a SB, that I would probabLy be safe In saying that you weren't around when they won (I could Be wrong about that). However, if I'm right, you're only "bandwagoning" the 5 SB victories.

Even with those Cowboy Fans who were around during any or all of the SB wins ...I envy slightly. But I really envy all of the Eagle fans who have yet to experience a SB victory. Because it will be more than sweet and will mean that much more to a team whom the SB Trophy has been so elusive.

You'll never be able to capture ...nay re-capture that feeling that fans get from their 1st ever SB win! The Eagles have "that" to look forward to, and I Get chills just thinking about what a day that will be!:)

If you think for one second that the Cowboys or any of their fans envy anything abouty the Eagles or their disgraceful fanbase, you're out of your mind.

The Cowboys will have 6 trophies in their case long before the Eagles even have the chance to open theirs.

There is nothing that the Eagles have, had or ever will have that the Cowboys want.

You envy a team that's still playing for something!

Not surprisingly, you're wrong :) I have total recollection of 4 of the 5 boys superbowls, met Roger & co. as a grade-schooler, etc.

We'll have SIX and SEVEN Lombardis before you have ONE :)

I respect the fact that you are an Eagle fan, but your blatent, lame homerism is something i loathe. PUT OUT THE WHITE FLAG NOW :)

You've completely missed the concept that I've eluded to in my last post. Again ...this has nothing to do with the Cowboys wanting something from the Eagles. The mantra is notion of obtaining something that the Cowboys have already had and lost; and that some have yet to experience ...that is a first Superbowl win from the franchise that your fanbase supports.

Cautionary Note: You may want to be careful how you sling around terms like..."you're Out of your mind." You Never know who on any forum may be a mental Health consumer struggling with a DSM IV related illness. Bad stigma.

If you're trying to spin the Eagles' lack of success as a good thing you're barking up the wrong tree. The Cowboys have "lost" nothing. The fact is that the Eagles have gained nothing. Cowboys fans need only look back fondly at their Super Bowl victories, the Eagles and their fans have none. That's a negative, not some warped kind of positive.

My apologies if it hit too close to home, although that may explain a few things.....

That's like telling a millionaire that he will never know the thrill of making his first dollar, .. of putting it under glass and framing it.

HE DOESN'T CARE !! He's a MILLIONAIRE !!

While the thrill you speak of was awesome, trust me, the thrill of the second Super Bowl win blew away thrill of the first.

And winning the Super Bowl 3 out of 4 years for the first time is NFL history blew away the feelings of the first and second wins. <combined>

The 6th will be the BEST of all I am sure !!

So to say we will never "recapture" the thrill of winning the first is hilarious, ... WE DON'T CARE !! WE ARE MILLIONAIRES !!
