Take a deep breath ...now read this with an open mind
You all know that Eagle fans have a stigma of being ruthless; especially during home games (sure you know ...the Santa Claus booing, various incidents where Eagle fans have applauded opposition team players being injured, fan-to-fan conflicts, etc).
That said, I feel compelled to make you aware of just this one (Confusious says: Thousand mile journey begins with first step), case where an Eagles fan was falsely accused of doing something to a visiting fan from the opponent team.
I'm sure you all heard about Clinton Portis' mom punching an Eagles fan in the nose for alledgedly throwing some liquid (assumed to be beer) on her during the game.
Here's some follow-up...
You know what, there are rogue fans in all franchises; perhaps the Eagles shoe fits better than others in some instances ...but certainly not in all cases! When you get a moment, take a stroll back to some of your comments on a thread that was Posted here when this thing first erupted. Many of you were quick to jump on the "beat-down" mentality; partially Because it was viewed as a payback to the Eagles fans, and partially because of the bad Publicity Eagle fans carry.
In any case, fan violence during games is inappropriate behavior regardless of what team you represent!
Think about that before you label the next Eagles fan a ...typical."
As usual, I'm ready now to be pelted.

Eagles fan sues mother of Commanders star Clinton Portis

An Eagles fan has sued the mother of Commanders star Clinton Portis, saying injuries from a punch thrown during a game at Lincoln Financial Field required surgery.
Lisa Walters, an Eagles fan who lives in Washington, sued the running back's mother, Rhonnel Y. Hearn of Gainesville, Fla., in federal court in Philadelphia.
The dispute began during the fourth quarter as the Commanders were pulling away to a 31-20 victory on Jan. 1. A group standing near Hearn's seat in the lower level blocked the view of Eagles fans, triggering a shouting match.
"Walters was watching all this, and for reasons unclear to us, Ms. Hearn targeted Walters and punched her in the face," said Walters' lawyer Oliver D. Griffin. "The punch knocked her down. She was bewildered and scared out of her mind."
After the punch, Hearn taunted Walters, the lawyer said. Security personnel soon moved the Portis group down to the Commanders sideline, a scene captured by Fox TV cameras. Walters was escorted to the bathroom, cleaned the blood from her face, and drove home, her lawsuit said.
The lawsuit seeks more than $75,000, the minimum needed to bring a case in federal court. Hearn couldn't be reached for comment yesterday. After the game,
Portis said ...his mother threw the punch after
someone hurled a beer at her. "She busted some
lady in the nose, but that'll just teach you about
messing with her," Portis told the Washington Post.
"People come to the game to have a good time.
That's what you should do. If you decide your team
is losing and you want to cause trouble, then you're
going to get what you're looking for."
Griffin said if someone threw a beer, it wasn't Walters.
