During the offseason we're a little more relaxed unless the topic is too far off-topic. I recall posting the original thread re: Portis' mom DURING the season for the very reason TBC mentioned. It was re: a NFC East team.

PT, I wanna ask you some pointed questions.

Dang ...I get real nervous when you start off like that HOS ...alright I'm braced for it -- shoot

Where is the PROOF that this woman did not throw beer on her?

Answer: It's my understanding that at this stage of litigations, that information or any information is available through eye-witnesses (while many of the witnesses were Eagle fans, there was a group of Commander fans with Portis' mom).

Return Question: Shouldn't the presiding judge ask ...Where is the PROOF that this woman did throw beer (based on the innocent until ...)?

Are you simply assuming that because she denies it through her lawyer that it must be true?

Answer: I certainly do understand the essence of your question ...what lawyer would make the statement ..."yes, my client is guilty, but ...!" That would be bad; but no. My assumption is that Lawyers know better than to make comments/statements about a case without being able to support what was said in the courtroom.

Are you telling me a Commanders fan threw the beer on her to trick her into punching an Eagles fan?

Answer:This is perhaps the best damaging question you've asked. I submit. I couldn't possibly believe that a Commanders fan threw the beer. But in all fairness, I could revert back to one a similar question that you asked earlier ..."is their PROOF that this woman had beer thrown on her?" Could she have fabricated the "beer" component to justify her retaliation? I don't know, but all that will come Out in the wash (no pun intended).

Are you denying anyone in those stands was capable of throwing beer on this woman? If so, based on what?

Answer: The very last thing I'm trying to do in these responses is to be ellusive -- so I'll answer this in two-parts ...

Elusive response: Up to the most recent "Clinton beer toss" we've heard nothing about any quantity of beer being throwings ...in fact, there are ocuntless fans from all franchises that would ask the question ..."why waste a perfectly good beer ..."

Realistic response: No.

If you agree that it was either this woman or another Eagles fan why do you suppose this exonerates Eagles fans in any way from the boorish behavior we all despise?

Answer: Wow! All I can say is I'm an Eagles fan and I too despise boorish behavior.

Tried to respond honestly and openly, hope I didn't seem disingenous.

She shouldn't have thrown a punch. But I've seen an eagle fan at Fedex pour a beer on a child in a Skins jersey. Of course SHE got her *** dragged out....but who pours a beer on like an 8 year old girl? Especially a grown woman doing this?
I saw something similar a few years back when an Eagles fan dumped a beer on a young child whose dad brought him to the game in a Cowboys' jersey. The father should have known better, but anyone who would dump beer on a child is a despicable human being.

Unfortunately these types of incidents are the rule in Eagles' sporting venues and not the exception.

Eagles fans are all the same to me, I have yet to me one that doesnt have a chip on his or her shoulder and always resorts to fighting.

I was forming some dialogue to respond back to you, all the way up to your closing comments. Nothing I say will really matter, regardless of what type of ambassador I try to be -- I'm an Eagles fan, but not the profile you're describing.

Phoenix- give it up. A lot of eagle fans are scum. THAT has been proven over the years. I mean seriously- why else did only ONE STADIUM in the NFL have its own holding cells? And which team did it belong to?

Exactly. Cheering when a player gets injured? I don't care what Eagle fans do, or in this case, dont do, they're all idiots and a-holes.

Pointing out one instance like this means nothing.

And I've been here long enough to have been fully aware of your feelings before you even sent this post. But pointing out this one instance does mean something to me (and perhaps more fans than you realize).

That is fine, I am not judging you but I have a large enough sample size from going to philly for games and having cowboys season tickets to know what eagles fans are all about.

THe nonsense with cockroaches is all I need to bring up. If you dont know what I am talking about well here it is. They call us cowboys fans cockroaches and I have seen these drunk idiots in the parking lot of the old vet eating them and acting like idiots.

So I am not judging you but understand as someone who has been to tons of games, buffalo, ny, washington, Dallas, philly and cleveland that eagles fans are the most obnoxious, always looking for a fight and the first ones to showboat and gloat when they are winning.

Sorry to tell you this but as I said here at texas stadium the only game each year there are problems is the eagles game. the skins and giants fans are pretty cool at the stadium, but the eagles fans always have a chip on their shoulder.

but it's regarding FANS not the team and how it impacts our team!!!!!

Oh well, I guess it's possible to see something like eagle players great uncles, nephews, sisters, brother inlaw farted on Jeffrie Lurie while on an airplane in Europe causing the plane to make an abrupt landing. Lurie is planning to sue!:D

Yes. What's the point? Do you know? Look, you may be right, but the jury is still out.

She shouldn't have thrown a punch.

That's the whole point! Yet, Ms Portis is viewed as a "good fan" that did the right thing!

But I've seen an eagle fan at Fedex pour a beer on a child in a Skins jersey. Of course SHE got her *** dragged out....but who pours a beer on like an 8 year old girl? Especially a grown woman doing this?

Even if I believed you, people shouldn't be categorized nor stigmatized!

You sure sound like you're campaigning!

I just find it curious that an Eagle fan posts Eagle crap

You're suspicions are well founded, but this "Eagle crap" was originated by a Cowboys fan. And you know what ...it's a very interesting read ...you're welcome to join in at any time.

PT, I have to agree that even though this is the off-season and NFCE related (in a skewed way), it probably belongs in a different forum.

I dont care if the Eagles fan gets 1M bucks from Portis' mom, nor do I care if she (the fan) is exposed as an idiot Eagles fan that deserved to get her snot-dripper re-arranged.

If this turns out to be true, and little mrs Portis is guilty, are we gonna feel any different about Philly and thier fans? Hell NO. Is the rest of the NFL nation? I think not. I hope they both go to jail. 2 less idiots on this earth.:)

Think about you comment TheSkaven! You've got to see something wrong with your validation of ...your one size fits all concept.

I agree! So far I couldn't tell you what that experience is like. Not being facetious, but according to you, I'm destined to "dump" (insinuating to unload huge quantities) beer on some opponent fan:rolleyes:

Unfortunately these types of incidents are the rule in Eagles' sporting venues and not the exception

No disrespect, but your closing comments dictates me to challenge the authenticity of eye-witness account.

Then I guess I've got to say "Good Luck" to the fan who's going after Portis' mom.

Maybe people shouldn't assume that all Philly fans are the worst in the league.....because they aren't. But they do a really good job of making themselves look awful on TV and in person.

I'm good with that.

No, the Judge is supposed to judge. It is the responsiblity of the attorneys to ask the questions. This woman is the one pressing charges. She has the burden of proof, not Portis' Mom. She acknowledges she hit the woman. Apparently security felt she had merit or they would have escorted her out of the building instead of down to the sidelines for her SAFETY. If the Eagles fans are "harmless hooligans" why would her safety be in jeopardy?

Answer: I certainly do understand the essence of your question ...what lawyer would make the statement ..."yes, my client is guilty, but ...!" That would be bad; but no. Undestood. Why do you think this exonerates an Eagles fan then?

Answer:This is perhaps the best damaging question you've asked. I submit. I couldn't possibly believe that a Commanders fan threw the beer. Again, the "victim" has the burden of proof. I've got 37 years of stories about how boorish fans are at the Vet/Linc and no stories about what a bully Portis' mom is.

Which way do you think the scales of opinion are going to lean?

I think that this woman sees an easy pay day. She's as much a "victim" here as I am. She got sloshed. Figured she could impress the peers around her with how tough she is and got her toughness answered with a busted nose. Good for Portis' mom. I have no sympathy for a Commanders fan at all, but in this case I'd say the quid pro quo was karma.

Considering this answer alone, tell me why Dallas fans, particularly the ones on this site who commented on this incident, should think about altering their opinions. For what reason?

Answer: Wow! All I can say is I'm an Eagles fan and I too despise boorish behavior.
Sorry to tell you that your fellow fans are the worst in the NFL along with the Raiders fans. Dallas fans won't change their opinion of this. It is a cesspool of boorish fans. Us changing our opinions of them won't change who and what they are. They're simply not going to feel our good will and change their stripes.

Tried to respond honestly and openly, hope I didn't seem disingenous.
Nope.

Possible responses ...

I give up ...fans are scum.

How was it proven?

Stadiums with "holding cells" are the obvious answer to having a bad fandom.

Listen, I read the news, watch TV, surf the internet, and Probably get the same information that you do. I can't/don't justify any dysfunctional behavior from any franchise fandom.

This is the part that many of you are having difficulty dealing with ...I'll say this once ...

I'm an Eagles fan ...I'm an fan of the Eagles -- not a fan of Eagle fans! But if I can do anything to improve upon the Eagle fan image ...that's where you'll find me working hard.
