The Eagles have signed Jalen Hurts to a $51 million per year extension and still have the cap to surround him with AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Dallas Goedert and Saquan Barkley. That may be the best offensive supporting cast in the entire NFL along with the 49ers. The Cowboys are about to resign Ezekiel Elliott.
oh geez. 4 years ago we signed Dak to then a 160M contract. his first year cap hit was 17M, second year 19M, 3rd year 26M....and we had signed Tyron, Lawrence, Zeke, Martin, Steele, Diggs, etc. along the way. every team at some point has to pay the price. at some point, eagles would have to decide to extend Hurts or walk away and take massive hit. Dallas is at that point, take a massiv ehit and walk away.

so its not about the cap. its about signing the right players. our GM doesn't know the right players. cap is easily manipulated.

Not signing the right players isn’t the problem. Not signing anyone is. They signed no one when Dak was on his rookie deal…

I still think the Eagles will rue the day they fired Pederson for Siriani, and signed Hurts to that big deal. Hurts is a very good QB but not elite like the media makes him out to be. Running QB's with poor accuracy are a short lived thing in the NFL. He's 1 hit away from having his mobility taken away. He was gimpy last year and wasnt the same guy. His accuracy and timing on intermediate routes is terrible. Eagles have everything you want except a great HC and QB. Much like Dallas.

Don’t overdo it. Philly is not in the 49ers’ class, particularly at head coach. If you want to give them credit, give it to them for at least trying to replace guys they lost to free agency. Most of those are band-aids. Curious to see what they do in the draft.

EXACTLY. The achilles heel is Siriani and Hurts. When Hurts is on point, he can overcome the suss coaching. When he isn't, they get exposed. Nick should have been fired. He is a college type coach.

bottom line though is the eagles are making big moves in FA and draft every year !!
They are going to get back to SB if they can solve the problem of what happened last season.

Any NFC team that gets to the SB is going to have to beat mahomes/KC and that makes it hard to win a SB.
SF got there but couldnt beat KC
Eagles got there but couldnt beat KC.

Eagles front office = Men
Cowboys front office = Boys

As a front office that wants to play in the SB, you HAVE TO build through the draft, trade AND early free agency (waves 1 and 2). Otherwise, your team will have too many holes to fill come draft day, and you likely won't be improving on a team that likely failed to reach its goals.

But, hey, the Jones boys will prove that you can be inactive in free agency and do it all through the draft. They have a sterling track record the last 30 years so I'm "all-in". Doing it the way they have this offseason will no longer have them "around the rim", they will definitely be in the bowl. Now, is that the Super Bowl or the toilet bowl. Get your popcorn ready...we shall see.

that's this year. because of the cap situation he put himself to. but to your point, he signs the wrong players, signs the wrong players from the team and then he doesn't spend. last year we had 10-15M on the cap and he didn't spend it. the year before decided to trade cooper for peanuts, create a need and then took the cap hit and we still had 20M on the cap. he didn't spend it.
its not the cap. it not signing players and not signing the right players when he does sign anyone

Isn’t that exactly what I said? He’s not signing anyone. He’s clearing cap space and doing nothing with it.
