I wouldnt mind the eagles OL, LOL, their run success depends on their OL & Hurts scrambles.

our OL is good but not great , especially Tyron ( unsure j , steele returning from major injury , and OK Tyler Biadaz, but our backups are blah….
The Eagles situation at RG is dire as their rookie is not beating out last year's backups. Their LG and LT are pretty average. Their depth is even worse.

Howie is bottom fishing, which is what he does best. There is little chance he's going to trade any top assets for Taylor. He's likely going to try to get him on the cheap. He sees the Colts are stuck in a bind here so he's going to keep pestering the Colts with low ball offers hoping that at some point, they get frustrated by the situation and dump him on Philly for like a 3rd round pick or something. Philly will take it, likely not bother resigning him and just using him up for one season. They'll view a 3rd round pick as a worthy price to pay for one season of a big time RB.

There's absolutely no chance the Eagles would use a 1st or 2nd round pick or more in a trade. All people kept screaming they'd use a first round pick on Gibbs or Robinson. That's not what they do.
He'd have a huge year behind Philly's line and when he walks they'd get a 3rd back as compensation. Essentially a free one year rental.

Soooo completely wrong. Jurgens, who they are sky high on, was drafted high to replace Kelce. He won the starting job at RG. Their LG is a pro bowler on the verge of all pro (Landon Dickerson) and their LT is top 5 in the NFL and an absolute mauler at 6'8 365 pounds. You are not well versed on the Eagles OLine. The left side of their line is tremendous.

I just don't see Jonathan Taylor as anything special.
Pull up his highlight reels and all you see is an average looking back running untouched behind a great OL.

There are reasons his own team doesn't care to resign him.

You’re right, y’all drafted Jurgens to play center (actually Kelce picked him out for Howie). I think he will be a decent center but he’s a little undersized for RG and will provide less strength and bulk than last years RG. I’m not convinced that it is a good idea for him to play RG, although I’m keeping an open mind… he might be okay because he has good feet and movement.

As far as him winning the RG position… just because he got the job in camp, doesn’t mean he will be good. He didn’t exactly have great competition for that spot.

One thing he has going for him is Kelce and Johnson on each side of him. Kelce is a phenomenal player. The best center in the league. Johnson is also very good (although he’s not in Kelce’s category). Those two should help mitigate any tough times that Jurgens might have.

Overall, I think the y’all’s offensive line will be fine with Jurgens, but there will be some decline in the right side, particularly in the power side of things. Jurgens is no guarantee on the right side.

So the rookie finally beat out last years backups. It was not so certain a couple of weeks ago. However you are overhyping your LT and RG hard.

I agree I was wrong about the LG.

What rookie beat out one of their backups from last year? If Jurgens is going to start at RG for them, and I have no idea that’s the case, he is not a rookie. So no rookie beat out anyone.

Sorry I was thinking of Steen instead of Jurgens who were both underwhelming.

Do you watch football? Jurgens has been named the starter at RG. Their LG made the Pro Bowl in his second year. Their LT is often cited as being one of the top five or six in the league.

He is the same size as their RG from last year. Seamalo is only 305 pounds, Jurgens 303. Didn't seem to hurt them much. Johnson is continually cited as the best RT in the league, and the best lineman or second best in the game by some as well. Their O-line is the engine that let's Hurts do his thing.

I think we will have a top-5 O-line by the middle of the season. But I'd still take their line over ours as constructed right now.

Getting back to the JT rumor….
Indy isn’t getting a premium pick for a player on an expiring contract. I could see a 2 at best. Probably a combo of 2 picks like a 3 & 5 or similar will get it done.
The only way Philly jumps into this is if they can get him on the cheap. They can let him play for the year and if they can’t get a reasonable deal done he walks and the Eagles get a 3rd compensatory pick. if it happens, which I doubt, it will be a one and done deal.

I totally agree. Jurgens is an unknown. I don't know if I agree with your assessment of Lane Johnson. He's been the best RT in the league for a while and may be HOF bound. Kelce is the best Center but, honestly , Dallas losing Fred at Center hurt because, to me, he was a better C than Kelce.

I wasn't overhyping Jurgens at RG. I know they are high on him at C but I have no idea is he'll be a great RG or a complete bust.
Our LT is a top 5 LT in the NFL. I know this is a goofy way of stating his dominance but I love Athlon and Lindy's preseason football guides. The both listed him as a top 5 LT in the NFL. The Eagles have concerns at RG, Safety and especially LB.... but their OLine is the best in the NFL and you don't have an elite OLine without an elite LT.

The Eagles OL is arguably the best in the NFL. Jurgens is their weak spot and he's likely, at worst, a league average OG. Now depth? That could be interesting if there are injuries. With no Dillard around, they are questionable behind Johnson and Mailata at the tackle spots IMO. They have Kelly, ehhh, and Driscoll, who I believe has had some injury issues since comig into the league in 2020.

One of the most analytical teams in the nfl are heavily interested in trading assets and paying big money for a rb

But the nerds on here will tell you it’s never a good idea to do such a thing

I wonder who knows better. Tough call

Love watching out fans feeling sorry for themselves over something they have no control of.
Dumb comment. We have zero control over any of this. Does that mean we shouldn't talk about it? Of course not. Thats the whole point of coming to a message board.

It doesn't look like the Eagles are going to get him.
