Eagles release CB Darius Slay

So this shows us how Howie Roseman intends to avoid the CAP timebomb set to go off in 2029. He is going to draft replacements a year before he releases they guys they will replace. Bradberry is a free agent this year so he will be gone as well. The Eagles planned this perfectly selecting DeJean and Mitchell last year.
Won’t work.

They have a ticking time bomb with their cap.

PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could he be like Stephen Gilmore, come in to help out for a year. Especially with Diggs probably starting the season PUP. If not traded or released.
I figured Gilmore would be our next Gilmore, if he doesn't retire.

They must be desperate for cap $$$$

POST-6/1 RELEASE

2025 Dead Cap: $9,456,000
2026 Dead Cap: $13,294,000
2025 Savings: $4,324,000
They currently have more available than the Cowboys…and they’re trying to find more. That’s what the concern should be.

Yep, effective roster planning along with proper talent evaluation.
Sounds like the job of a GM who knows what he's doing.

Oh well...sighs

Roseman drafted two CBs last draft that balled out as rookies. That allows them to make this move.

They will probably draft another CB early in this draft as well.
They like Ringo from Georgia… And they might try to bring back Isaiah Rogers … for us I would much rather sign Isaiah Rogers than a 34-year-old Darius slay.

Slay is 34 and the Eagles added two quality rookie CBs last year.
Thats how its done.

I wouldnt try to sign him unless its really cheap and as a nickel/depth. Even then rather someone with a future

Possible they can wait until after the draft. Sign him if still available so Philly does not get a comp pick. And for less money.
