So true. Personally I’d just resign LewisI see how this goes
We sign him “oh wow an aging vet we need to get younger he’s on the decline”
Another team signs him “Jerry and Son suck we could’ve gotten a CB in his prime who hasn’t let up a touchdown in 30 years smh another failed season”
The right take is that this is proof that the Eagles make moves for now and worry about later, later.I see how this goes

This draft is loaded with fast DBs. There must of been 10 that ran in 4.38 range.Roseman drafted two CBs last draft that balled out as rookies. That allows them to make this move.
They will probably draft another CB early in this draft as well.
Despite his age (34), Slay can still offer a contender quality depth on the cheap.Roseman drafted two CBs last draft that balled out as rookies. That allows them to make this move.

I think releasing him negates any comp pick if he continues his career elsewhere.Possible they can wait until after the draft. Sign him if still available so Philly does not get a comp pick. And for less money.
Yes it does. I forgot about that. Thanks.I think releasing him negates any comp pick if he continues his career elsewhere.
Pretty sure the Eagles would not be eligible for a comp pick for Slay. This cut was long foreseen and even Slay knew it was coming. He’s not a free agent at the end of a contract, so no comp pick.Possible they can wait until after the draft. Sign him if still available so Philly does not get a comp pick. And for less money.
There we go…I thought that was the caseYes it does. I forgot about that. Thanks.
