Let me guess. You tell yourself "I'm good enough, I smart enough, and dog on it, refs are always right" in front of the mirror. Right? LOL.

They're right on this play where you try to make stuff up to say they're wrong, aren't they? "Sure, he never lost contact with the guy and actually drove him 4 yards back but I feel he lost his block. The refs are crooked!" Lol.

it's similar to how the Packers Offense got away with holding doing their special technique a few years back

I’ve noticed this in previous weeks and it was happening over and over last night. Their OL will come off the ball 3-4 yards run blocking essentially signaling to the defense it’s a run play. Hurts will wait until the linebackers and safeties are forced to commit to honoring those keys, and then throw the ball down field. This is completely illegal and the eagles have been exploiting this all season in their RPO game. On the RPO the decision for the quarterback to pass downfield requires him to make that decision immediately, it is impossible for him to hold onto the ball and start rolling out because by that time the lineman are 3-4 yards downfield… as far as they’re concerned they’re just blocking this up like a run play! Hurts does this constantly and it never gets called, the referees are allowing him WAY too much extended time for the run/pass option to be available to him.

Enforce the damn rules of the game!

If they are committed to running RPO offense, then defenses need to simply lay out the QB until they stop. Once the QB takes enough hits, they won't run it nearly as much.

So you’d like the NFL to change a rule because Dante Fowler is too dumb to watch the ball? Anyone with half a brain knew the Eagles weren’t running a play there.

I guess take the encroaching penalty away then too?

The coaches should have watched film and alerted the league/officials this was happening prior to the game. There's no excuse for these sorry, no spotting officials.

We need to give it up. The penalty is to enforce DE's not to try and look like receivers making it impossible for defenses. When a lineman blocks a DLineman a yard back that isn't illegal man downfield. You guys are being ridiculous

Bro, Parsons crashed the line biting on the run fake. So he came to the line to put himself within 1 yard of the LOS. Here's the pic I showed the other guy who has yet to answer my question as to whether the guy blocking Parsons was within 1 yard of the LOS when he said the OL engaged Parsons at the 5. Don't think I'll get an answer from him but what do you think? Is he within 1 yard of the LOS while blocking Parsons as the 2nd guy he engaged?

Parsons feet touched the 5 but didn't crossover. The 5 is 2 yards. I would be ok with 1.5 yards downfield by the OL if this is the only time it happened but they repeatedly pushed the limit.

Biadasz got called one time when he lunged and missed a block and fell down.

For whatever reason the refs let some teams get by with certain things that other teams get called for doing.

The Packers method of OL holding. Philbin taught that to Connor Williams and he ended up with 16 penalties in 13 starts for 2021.

The Seattle Legion of Boom defensive holding/pi. They just kept doing it because they knew the refs would get pinged the league office if the games were consistently too long due to excessive penalties.

They're probably not calling OL downfield for the same reason they quit calling pi on Richard Sherman and the LoB.

Mac should be sending these videos to the league office.

This will be addressed before we play them again. With this much film coaches are going to be adamant against it and the league can't simply ignore the problem. There will either be "clarification" or flags.

I'm speaking on the premise this happened multiple times a game/s. If it was happening illegally it should be dealt with, especially if they've been getting away with it for several games.

If they are just beating their men good for them.

They're not concerned with Parsons on this play though if you're going to call illegally downfield. It's all about the OL and the note from the rule identifies what "more than 1 yard beyond the LOS" means.

Note: An ineligible offensive player is illegally downfield when his entire body is more than one yard beyond the line of
scrimmage.

So was the OL's "entire body more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage" according to that picture I showed you?

They are allowed more then one yard if they are engaged in a block. Think of it like this... when the ball is snapped the entire DLine take a big step backwards, more then a yard down the field, are you trying to say the OLine can't block them then. The rule is so Tackles don't confuse the Defense by running down field looking like receivers. Not one picture shows any of that. It shows a really good OLine pushing back our DLine.
Kind of off topic but I think the Eagles DLine is average. Cox ain't elite anymore and neither is Graham. I saw Cox has 1 tackle total over his last two games.

I know the rules. I'm asking the folks who are saying the LG in my picture was downfield blocking after chipping Bohanan and then engaging with Parsons. They say he was more than 1 yard downfield when he engaged Parsons which he can't do by the rules. But was he actually more than 1 yard downfield? I don't seem to be getting answers.

RPOs are tricky and offenses are allowed more leeway than ever

if they called it everytime the RPO offense would go extinct and the nfl needs offenses to sell tickets
winning sells tickets, not gimmickier offense.

was the old Correal offenses boring, WSO of the 9ers, Our offense sold tickets in the 90s, greatest show on turf years, run and shoot, etc etc

I see this much like the ravens they built and offense to suit their talent at QB, while its hard to defend at times its not explosive and can be slowed, see many 2nd half's they don't do much. I don't see this getting them to a SB.

I think it's because he's blocked players and looking for others to block and not looking like a receiver running down field.

The Eagles won a Super Bowl against Belicheat with a slow-footed backup QB running RPO's. I can't get that out of my head. Foles is a better passer than Hurts though.

People seem to forget we’ve been running RpOs for a decade. Vick did it and won the division, Chip Kelly did it with Foles and won the division, Doug did it with Wentz and Foles and won the SB. We’re about to make the playoffs 4 times in 5 years running RPOs but only now its suddenly gonna stop working?
