How can a ball travel forward while still being passed backwards?

LOL

They could challenge, but he’d already made the first down, so they may have seen it as a gamble for slight change in field position......or the guys in press box were having a hot dog.

I think Dak should be sitting down and watching russell wilson work. Go train with him in the offseason lol. They are the same style of qb except wilson accuracy is a lot better (beyond 5 yards) and he has a better feel for the pocket (hopefully comes with experience).

Wilson is far far far more elusive.

There is no way Dak would survive behind the Seahawks O-Line. There is a lot of pressure on nearly every play.

Looking at Wilson's passes, Wentz currently doesn't have a strong arm. Wilson has more zip on his passes

The commentators are wrong btw. Wilson passed the ball backward. It can travel forward while still being passed backward
What color is the sky in your world?

Creative playcalling there.
And this is why I keep harping on it. You can't bash the QB when other teams do things to get their guys wide open. Now if Prescott had guys running wide open like that all day long and couldn't hit him, I would want him gone ASAP. And this is why I said I'm torn on him, because it's hard to judge when you're under pressure, and your guys always have tight coverage.

My exact thought, Dak is very similar to Russell but doesn't have the same feel for the game as passers. Russell is always looking beyond the sticks while Dak is always looking for his first read and then check down.

the "head snap into the sidewalk" is officially upgraded once again to the " curb stomping, boot scoot boogie " category ( ya, it's rarely upgraded to that level,but,,,:igglestrophy:,,,o_O)

LOL

Passing is relative to the player, so forward momentum of the player has to be taken into account. You can pass the ball backward but if you were already moving forward at 5km/hr, that forward momentum is added to the ball. If you pass the ball backward at half that speed the ball will still move forward.

If the ball has to travel backward that is relative to the ground it means the ball has to physically go backward.

If you watch rugby union you'll see a number of passes that float forward but are ruled backward. It depends on how the rule is stated but I think it's just "passes backward"? Not too sure.
Wentz doesn't have a strong arm?

Wilson has noticeably more zip on his intermediate passes for sure
