I guess NFL offices could have closed early or something and this wasn't sent out as transactions. It says Dallas signed Travis Wilson FROM the PS yesterday but still nothing on Amendola.

Don't really care one way or the other but it is strange.

I was looking for someone who thought as I did. I thought I was alone here David. ;)

I dont see why a guy who was probably the 7th or 8th best WR at the facility makes any difference at all.

I saw him in TC and preseason like everyone else did...once the preseaosn game started, he was a nobody and didnt look like somebody that would ever develop into anything. He wasnt even good on punt returns.

Not a big loss, not really much of a place for him here and I doubt he makes much of a impact in Philadelphia.

If he started 37% of the sanps this year, the Cowboys would be in the playoffs now-FACT!

Like a kick in the ****.

How about we let some of the guys with crap work ethics get away instead of guys like Amendola.

Still no verification from NFL...

Maybe Newman was wrong, maybe it's the holidays.

Anyone else see ANY confirmation?

...to have a chance I would think the West Coast Offence would be ideal.

After the RW trade, he had no future here. Good luck to him.

Well, the Eagles have a history of drafting poor receivers, so maybe that will carry over to FA signings as well. Amendola wasn't going to add anything to Dallas. With Hurd coming back, he would have been #6 at best, and there are a lot of receivers coming out of college this year.

I haven't seen anything officially stating Danny Amendola has signed with the Eagles, but Terence Newman's word for it is good enough for me.

It's enough for me that we've already resigned some practice squad players and Amen wasn't one of them. And I don't know if the Eagles signed him to their playoff roster or to a futures contract for next season, a bird brain at the Ranch said it was the latter.

But even when we were hurting with receiver injuries this season, we never turned to Amendola, we actually called up Shawn Jefferson instead, he was demoted and eventually released for being a pot head.

So Amendola would be wise if he did take the Eagles up on a chance to join their organization in any fashion. He may develop into a role player somewhere down the line, but he wasn't going to crack our 53 man roster next season even with the help of injuries, so go somewhere else and try.

Makes sense i guess if you're QB chucks as many passes in the dirt as McNabb does to go get a WR that towers like a full inch over it

I hate to hear that. I really thought this guy would be something the boys could use. I guess the Eagles saw something too.

A"futures" contract?

I'm not an expert but that's a new one on me...

First of all, it's Mike Jefferson, not Shawn. Secondly, that doesn't mean that the Cowboys anticipated a brighter future from Jefferson. Jefferson had far more experience, and was further along on his learning/physical curve. Amendola's problem wasn't his ability, as most reports would have us believe, but rather had more to do with his size and strength. He needs a year or two of strength and conditioning in the NFL before he should be evaluated.

Also, are you sure that Jefferson was released because of pot? I was under the impression he had broken the leagues' steroid rules.

Amendola could have been awesome out of the slot like Welker,...But Rocket Scientist Garret didn't have the balls to use him...Whatever Jerry says...Goes!

My biggest concern is that the Eagles will coach him up, and have him ready to contribute this w/e.

Then next season they will use him to beat the snot out of us in the new stadium...
