Interesting. He was a Chip Kelly pick - and he had fallen out of favor with the current coaches. If they don't want the OL, then who do they want?

WR or TB? They are very thin at both spots.

The Chip Kelly purge continues...Roseman is replenishing their stock pile of picks. Good work by him.

I would have given them a conditional 4th for Rowe and cut Wilcox....

That is good news for Eagles' fans. The only bad news for them is that Roseman will actually be choosing who they pick in the draft. Roseman is great at making deals and working the CAP but when it comes to choosing talent he pretty much stinks. Roseman was the GM between 2010 - 2014 for the Eagles and was great at stock piling picks but horrible at picking players. During those 5 years he stockpiled 46 picks (avg 9 a year). His most noteable players drafted were Brand Graham, Riley Cooper, Jason Kelce, Nick Foles, Mychal Kendricks, Fletcher Cox, Lane Johnson, Zach Ertz, Bennie Logan, and Jordan Matthews. 10 of the 46 picks are noteable but even less have had an actual impact. The only player that I would say is great would be Fletcher Cox. Lane Johnson may qualify if he did not keep getting suspeneded for PEDs. Kendricks, Kelce, Ertz, Logan, Graham, and Matthews are all good players but not exceptional. 5 years of mediocre drafts with tons of draft picks. Not to mention all of the failed free agent signings. Does the Dream Team sound familiar?

I thought back in that draft, Rowe would have made a good safety candidate. Philly tried him at CB and he just never took to the position. Going to be interesting to see what the magician in New England can do with him.

This is two years in a row the Eagles are smashing the trades numbers, they can't even blame Chip for this mess. Any other franchise would be getting raked over the coals but that first they aquired is giving them a pass. Crazy times.

I too thought Rowe would be a good safety.

Wonder if NE puts him at safety or CB?

Regardless, the Eagles are making moves! And I don't think they're done yet.

That sucks as a Cowboys fan.:(

Eh, sometimes trading away young talent isn't the answer. Pretty sure Miami regrets trading Vontae Davis.
I agree, but they do need line help.

Poor Wentz is gonna be running for his life if they don't fix that line.

Great point though about trading youngsters though.:)

Hmm, Eagles trade Eric Rowe (a Chip pick) to Patriots for guard Josh Kline and a 4th round pick. A Pats friend say Kline is a good player who can play both guard positions. He is not happy with the deal. Looks like Philly is trying to get veteran depth up front for Wentz. And they got a pick....is Howie Roseman the NFL's P.T. Barnam??

Well, they gave up a player, too, in Rowe. He was a top-50 guy with good press cover skills. They don't get plaudits for screwing up picks and then bailing on them at a big discount over and over again.

Those guys are chasing their tails over there the last two offseasons. I don't get why some of our fanbase idolizes that organization. They've never won anything, and they take stupid risks that blow up in their faces over and over again. They're a joke.

Scwartz didn't like Rowe for some reason, and after seeing him play in the last two preseason games up here, he did nothing to impress against scrubs. I think he has talent, but is not a good fit for their new system. He certainly wouldn't be a threat to our starters.

So they turned a high-2nd pick into a 4th plus a backup OL. Not exactly magic.

The same goes for selling the farm to get Wentz and then trading away their own starting QB who'd they'd just extended the week before the season starts. If we did that, the same fans who are applauding PHI and wondering how they pull off the moves (the ones who didn't criticize them for giving up a king's ransom to get the guy in the first place, mind you) would be up in arms with torches and knives trying to point out the disarray in Dallas for trading the starter they prepped the whole offseason for a 3rd string rookie who missed most of the preseason and looked mechanically unsound in camp prior to getting hurt.

The Demarco Murray signing? Are you kidding me? Anything involving the fight between Chip and Roseman? That stuff's just embarrassing.

Well for one, the GM is fixing Kelly's mistakes. What I don't get is why people can't give them some credit for having a pretty strong offseason.

- Last year we laughed at them for overpaying for Murray and Maxwell and how it was going to kill them. Their new GM not only dumped their salaries but was able to get Miami to let them move up to 8 from 13 by taking on their salaries.

- Some laughed at them for signing Bradford to all that money. They just turned Bradford into a #1 pick and if Minnesota does well this year, that 2nd pick could be a 3rd or even 2nd rounder.

- Some here laughed at them overpaying for Wentz, but through various deals, they basically got all their picks they gave up for Wentz back.

Did they have a perfect offseason? Of course not. But it's foolish IMO to not at least give them credit where credit is due. They've had a pretty successful offseason digging out from under what Kelly did.
