Your right they will miss his talent. The reason it is a good move is because the eagles know they were not giving him another big contract and he was already making noise about it. Instead of forcing a malcontent to stay on 1 last year they facilitate a trade. It's not some all world trade but has potential to get a decent return and is at least better than a possible 3rd round comp pick if they had let him walk.It's not a solid move at all. It's a bad move from a football perspective. It's a cap dump or a bad attitude in the locker room dump. This absolutely makes them a weaker team and the pick they got back is still 3 drafts away. While there is potential for them, no one looks at their edges as a scary group. With Reddick in the mix they were much more disruptive. Depending on how their other free agent moves (signings vs departures) go next offseason there is a chance they would have received a 3rd as a comp pick any way. There is just no way to pretend this is a solid move unless you wanted him gone.
