It's not a solid move at all. It's a bad move from a football perspective. It's a cap dump or a bad attitude in the locker room dump. This absolutely makes them a weaker team and the pick they got back is still 3 drafts away. While there is potential for them, no one looks at their edges as a scary group. With Reddick in the mix they were much more disruptive. Depending on how their other free agent moves (signings vs departures) go next offseason there is a chance they would have received a 3rd as a comp pick any way. There is just no way to pretend this is a solid move unless you wanted him gone.
Your right they will miss his talent. The reason it is a good move is because the eagles know they were not giving him another big contract and he was already making noise about it. Instead of forcing a malcontent to stay on 1 last year they facilitate a trade. It's not some all world trade but has potential to get a decent return and is at least better than a possible 3rd round comp pick if they had let him walk.

Jerry is not the team ........ and he is the real enemy of true fans.

I know you do not get it ....... its painfully obvious.
So wait you’re comparing Jerry to a NFL team?

And what don’t I get that’s soooooooo painfully obvious? When I’m the one who’s been arguing how bad Jerry has been and you guys focus on one particular player?

It’s the NFL though. It’s all about the now and they got rid of one of the best pass rushers in the league for a pick they won’t see for awhile. I don’t get how people can say this is a good move but think trading Cooper was bad.

If the Cowboys got rid of Micah Parsons for a pick in a draft that they will get a few years from now? We’d crash out on them. This is like trading Amari for a 5th round pick….
If Micah was on the wrong side of 30, stopped playing the run well, is coming off a season where his stats decreased due to injury, and demanded a significant pay increase from the contract he already was playing on, plus graded out lower than the guy who was way younger that you just got for much less in FA.

Then it would be a question to ask Cowboys fans: would you do that?

I wouldn’t. Especially if I’m willing to pay Josh Huff.

This was a Bellicek kind of move. I can see the reason the birds did it; they at least got something for him.

I am not focusing on one player ........ I do not hate Dak ....... but 8 years of choking in the playoffs is enough. I want a first round QB ....... may not work out, but thats the last time we had a SB winning QB.

Jerry is the real problem ........ until that con artist is 6ft under, nothing will ever change.

Bryce Huff? He makes way less than what Haason is asking for. Why would you pay the significantly older player that much more when he played worse?
I think Eagles defense sucked last year and it was because of the DC. I don’t believe he forgot how to rush the passer. You game plan for Reddick. Do you do the same for Huf?

It will only be to the Eagles’ benefit if you don’t, he had the same production in half the snaps

I don’t even engage in the whole Dak stays or Dak goes. I’m so over it. Cowboys could’ve won with Romo. Could’ve won with Dak. Draft status has nothing to do with will you win or not because if we had Baker Mayfield or Johnny Manziel we’d suck still lol.

All sacks ain’t the same. This is the Dorance Armstrong argument. Reddick is game planned for. Just like Micah. Huff isn’t game planned for like Reddick so the production is skewed.

Because he was an unknown quantity until last year. Reddick wasn’t game planned for as a Cardinal either.

You can make excuses for why Reddick’s production dipped, but you don’t pay someone a top pass rusher contract based on excuses. Hes getting older, getting injured and a replacement was available.

Well it’s funny the Jets let Huff go and traded for Reddick so clearly they feel they upgraded from a guy they see everyday at practice…. All in favor of this old crippled man Reddick lol.

And Arizona let Reddick walk instead of matching the cheap price Carolina got him for, and then Carolina wouldn’t pay him what Philly did, and now Philly doesn’t want to give him the extension that NYJ presumably is working with him on.

DEs who don’t play the run seem to be recyclable

Glad he's gone. They were gonna lose him anyway, solid move for the eagles.
Top edge rushers want top money. The Eagles saying no to Reddick’s suggestion of $25 million a year may benefit the Cowboys in the very near future. Parsons is certainly thinking in terms of $30 million per season. Maybe some owners are indicating the position, while important, is simply not quite $25 to $30 million per season important.
