Eagles v Pats Game thread *Merged*

It's nice to see the Pats getting a good game. But I still hate the Eagles.

This game will soon be a blowout. The Pats will score on this drive and it'll be all over.

Afraid so.

So how does a team stop a slant? Seems like thats a given play as long as the QB doesn't get hit...the defense can't stop it inless your tailing the runner and then your taking a chance on getting a penalty

I can see that and that's probably what theogt is talking about. That's what GB does to with those slants and that's probably why they don't care that they don't run that much either.

always remember this, theo never knows what he's talking about ;)

2ndly, the 4-5 yards the slant gets them is what you want from a good running game, it's a very hard route to defend, it's used to beat man coverage, but it's even more effective against a zone

as long as teams respect the deep ball of the Pats, they can run slants all day in place of having a running game

Why didn't the Patsies play this mortal when we played them

Dangit. Oh well. The Pats score one more before the Eagles score another, and its over.

Break inside and pick it, but that is an all or nothing proposition. Won't work very often and typically you'll give up the farm.

You can jump the slant route or play very strong inside technique, but that sets you up for getting burned deep.

How many teams have ever had a passing attack quite like this?

The Vikings did and were 15-1...No Superbowl tho.
