Eagles v Pats Game thread *Merged*

I'm not gonna get on you guys for rooting for the Eagles....

But everytime I try to root for them, I see Irvin motionless on the field and the Eagle fans cheering.

They don't deserve this satisfaction.

That's just me though.

I bet every AFC team' fan is rooting for the Eagles tonight, and probably half or more of the NFC team's fans.

I bet the Ravens aren't.

They play the Pats next week.

I'm rooting for the Pats..I'll never root for an NFC East team when the playoffs have yet to be decieded. Last thing I want to see is Philly go on a roll like they did last year and make the playoffs sparked by them beating the Pats.

the enemy of my enemy is my friend

The problem is teams play very cautious against the Patriots. Offensively, they want to control the clock and run the ball, and defensively, they aren't aggressive, because of the threat of Moss. The Eagles are doing exactly opposite on both sides of the ball:

1. Attacking downfield over the middle
2. Aggressive defensively and blitz-happy

yeah i notice that...pretty interesting

I have a feeling every team in the NFL is rooting for Philly. If a Cowboy fan can do it, anyone can.

so true..

if NE loses this game...chalk it up to ego...refusing to balance the offense staying exclusively in a 4WR formation...Brady throwing up for grabs with Moss in double coverage...a certain arrogance to their offensive philosophy tonight...their defense looks shaky...especially over the middle in the secondary...pay attention, cause for sure, the blueprint is being laid tonight...and everyone is watching...

That Rams team went to two Super Bowls and won one of them.

That validates my argument. Regardless, winning a single game depends on 3 phases of game, not just one.

They had Marshall Faulk, and he was used both in the running game and the passing game. I was just saying that the Rams, offensively, were just as good as the Patriots, if not better. They didn't tape signals as well. :laugh2:

But seriously... the Eagles receivers are getting wide-open... the Patriots defense is getting exposed downfield...

Why did the Eaglse stop running Westbrook on the outside.
Seemed to work pretty good early in the game.

We really killed ourselves in our game vs the Pats.

I felt we could've kept up with them on the scoreboard if it wasn't for penalties.
