Righteous, I've said from the beginning it's evident..it's about paperwork now, that's essentially what u were eluding to abt.. there's no activity as far as offers or inquiries with any other teams but yet they have (Seattle) spoken with several teams about him. It's never just one thing in these matters but I assume one of the things that play a factor in why it's not just so cookie cut& dry& just a simple, normal trade is the third creating that spectacle when initially got the wheels in motion by hunting Garrett down & telling him what to do on National TV on Christmas Eve.John Schneider, Paul Allen& the front office hierarchy are proud, stubborn, respectable people so their gonna chagrin on situation that their getting played or the perception is their getting played. So that's a factor in this equation, both sides don't wanna give off the impression their fleecing each other sorta say.If the third is serious about playing for us he could or better yet his representation say they will not sign an extension with any team besides us. Now the so called market he has vying for his services are dried up& are slim to none because of the respective team not having any guarantees their going to be able to extend the player, so the request of 1's &3's that they speak becomes 4's& 5's..& Maybe we'll throw in a player (Scandrick) but ultimately the third gonna be a Cowboy& that u could Trust.

IF ET really wants to be here he can refuse to sign an extension with another team which means no one else will give up a premium pick to trade for him. It would give us huge bargaining power.

They become 4's& 5's..& If u see the market for the safeties currently I'm not sure you have to pay him north of 10 million per season. I think u can work it& word the language in the contract in which u essentially pay him 10 million a season & maybe incentives built in like u make all pro u make pro bowl,etc.etc..yeah it can be definitely done. We just need a competent front office to execute.

I would give them a 3rd and a 4th which would be the equivalent of a 2nd. I think they would just keep him if all they could get was a 4th and a 5th.

Then we have an All Pro safety with a big extension and still have 8 picks including our 1st and 2nd where we can get at least 2 major immediate impact players. I created a thread about it in the draft zone.

Bet I will check it out but I agree tho, I want preferably our first 3 pics so I wish not to depart from those.

Not with his recent injury history. By the way how did Berry do this season...... Injuries
His own teammate kicks him in the shin with cleats on and then a freak hammy that was only a couple games. Stop it. The guy is a virtual ironman out there.

Yes dude, but seriously are you going to hold it against him that a teammate KICKED him in the leg with cleats on..... Seriously? The guy has played missed a Total of 7 games his entire career most of them(5) because of a freak play.

He wants to come here, Seattle needs a 2nd and third round pick.
I don't see Dallas giving up both of those along with the amount of money that he would want

Better to get another good young safety if in first round.

At this point I rather just make a move for the safety out of Fla, younger and cheaper on a 5 yr contract. Thomas is almost 30 and will be expensive and we have already probably seen his best. Give me the rookie.

I'd like to see Thomas wearing a star, but no way would I give a 1st, not this year or next.
well not our first. i'd trade them like tampas first w/o a problem though.

we need to get more creative with our trades. :)
