Meh, honestly the first year in awhile I just don't think I will watch or care about the draft. Man, I really feel like I'm done with the Jones Circus at this point

1st and 2nd Round need to fix two of those three positions (OT/LB/DT)

3rd should be the position left that wasnt fixed in the 1st and 2nd or RB, S, CB

The Rest i would go BPA and focus more on the Defense.

Do you believe in Richards? The Cowboys think of him as a future starter.

Not sold yet. Swing Tackle maybe but starting T i doubt it. Would need to see way more tape and playing time.

Also wondering why he didnt play more than 35 snaps this year when the O-Line was in shambles in many games. They even trotted slow Chuma Edoga out at LT infront of him. So not sure they are that high on the guy.

OL: Steele has been awful and arguably the weakest link on offense. Can we get out of his monster contract? Tyler B has been mediocre at best…if there’s an opportunity to draft an upgrade do it.

CB: Gilly will be a FA soon and JLew has been picked on as a slot CB.

S: Kearse and Wilson have been weak links as coverage safeties.

WR: kind of a question mark bc if we do a better job getting Cooks involved we’re fine but still need to upgrade MG.
Trading Steele pre-June one costs the Cowboys $1 million in CAP space. I imagine after the year he has had he will not bring anything in return.

I'd give him on more year. They have Richards and Waletzko if he can stay healthy, to develop in case Steele doesn't cut it.

Gilmore and Lewis are free agents. I would sign one and draft someone. Diggs will be back and Bland, Diggs and one of those two will be pretty good together. The moved up to take Eric Scott last year and then they kept him on the roster all year so I assume they expect him to be something. I have my doubts but I hope they know better than me.

I would let Kearse go. I don't think they want to play that kind of defense anymore - at least I hope not. I think Wilson can play the role Kearse played - or Bell.

I think they need a WR2. Gallup is not that guy. He is at best a WR3. Cooks ain't that guy either. Maybe they are hoping Bryant can be that guy for a year or two.

Likely outcome especially since Stephen is obsessed with cheap labor.

Overshown's 2024 cap hit is $1,225,005
Juanyeh Thomas is $915,000
Markquese Bell is $990,000

Who cares if they can't effectively defend the run? DQ will play 8 DB's and the fan base will wonder why the team gets ran all over.

Our amount of needs due to FA loss’ is awful.

You could make a case for basically any position so BPA all day.

LT looks to be where our needs and the strength of this draft mesh up. Usually, you can't get turnkey starting-caliber LTs outside of the top 15... the dancing bears go early, and then you are left with the marginal athletes and projects. But I have seen that as many as 8 LTs could go 1st round this year, so I bet some serious talent will fall to us.

Outside of that, LB is a huge need. I think that we should sign a vet for 2024, because rookie LBs usually don't start fast. But even if we do sign an FA, we still need to draft a guy. We simply did not have enough LB shaped bodies in 2023... it was Clark and a bunch of safeties.

CB is quietly a big need, cause Gilmore is ancient and I don't fully trust Bland yet. Losing Diggs and dinging Gilmore's shoulder allegedly caused DQ to shift to a zone D in the playoffs, which was a season ending mistake.

Don't get me wrong. I go go back to using actual LBs as my second line of defense. I like the idea of a big MLB and someone like Overshown on 1 side maybe Micah on the other. But they need DTs who can protect the LBs, Today, that is not happening.

I’d bring Tyron back and draft an OT in round if it’s BPA. Tyron would likely want to finish here and take something cheaper and still give us pro bowl caliber play. Let the 1st rounder compete for Steelers job and take over LT year 2.

Agree on LBr in FA and same for DT.

CB is a need for sure and I’d add DE to the list. DA and Fowler are gone, Micah is double more than any player in football and in big games no one else helps get pressure.

While we’re at it add WR to the list. Get us out of MGs contract and more firepower for playoff caliber teams.

my off season top 5 priorities are:

1. The O-line needs to get figured out. By this I mean there are a lot of moving pieces and possibilities. Personally don't think they want to move Tyler anymore, he's too good at LG. Plus Martin may be gone much sooner than later. Did they see enough to think that Bass continue to improve enough to be counted on as a starter going forward? I kind of think Steele will be better a yr removed from his surgery, but will they? Will Asim Richards take one of the OT spots or will they keep him at OG as Martin's future replacement? I think Edogao is better as a back up G than T. Can Waletzko or Ball be the swing? Tyron isn't going to be here much longer, if at all. All this needs to be figured out asap. So after saying all of this, I think they choose to upgrade the OT position. Having another starting quality OT makes things easier to figure out. So I think they probably take an OT in rd 1.

2. Getting a thumping MLB with instincts who can stuff the run and cover ground is a must. I don't care if they find one in FA or the draft, I'd do both, but regardless, it needs to happen. I'd take the best guy in RD 2.

3. A full time bell cow RB needs to be drafted. A FA either isn't worth the $ or worn out, so just go draft a guy. TP is the lightning, we need the thunder. RD 3 at the latest.

4. I think we could go many directions here but for me adding a tall, fast WR with excellent hands is very important. FA or draft. MG has regressed, Cooks is just too small and CD gets lots of attention. Tolbert and Brooks are quality 4/5 guys but I don't see much more from them.

5. Adding another CB needs to happen. FA or draft. I think Diggs will come back fine, but maybe not 100% until mid-season. Bland has earned a spot but still has to get better, just as Diggs did. Gallimore stepped up but is aging and on his last year of his deal and although I think he's better than most believe, Lewis did get abused a lot this season. All of them have question marks.

Tyler B has been mediocre at best…if there’s an opportunity to draft an upgrade do it.
In order
1. Graham Barton
2. Jackson Powers-Johnson
3. Sedrick Van Pran
4. Zach Frazier

These are who I like to replace Tyler B should he leave.

Corner is definitely a need: Gilmore/Lewis are fa's, Diggs coming back from major injury.
I've not looked at CBs yet definitely a need as is a true cover safety

WR: kind of a question mark bc if we do a better job getting Cooks involved we’re fine but still need to upgrade MG.
A few I like the one I think we have best shot at is Malachi Corley

Really good Tackle draft. Guys I love are Taliesa Fuaga (Oregon State), Graham Barton (Duke), and Kingsley Suamataia (BYU). I think people have discovered Fuaga and he will get drafted before the Cowboys would have a shot.

I don't love this class. No sure thing elite talent IMO. Toledo's Quinyon Mitchell is a sleeper. I realy like Iowa State's T.J. Tampa (6'2", 200 lbs).

I love, love, love Iowa's Cooper DeJean. He's a corner/safety/linebacker and return man for the Hawkeyes. Would love to see him a Kearse-like role in Dan Quinn's defense. Utah's Cole Bishop is a thumper. James Williams (Miami) is huge at 6'5" and 215 lbs. My Day 3 guy is Maryland's Dante Trader Jr who also plays for the Maryland rugby team.

I like Washington's Rome Odunze, Florida State's Keon Coleman, USC's Brenden Rice (Jerry's son), and Florida's Ricky Pearsall. Tennessee's Bru McCoy was once a bigtime recruit who bounced between Texas and USC before finding a home in Knoxville.

Coleman, who played basketball at Michigan State, will go before the Cowboys can pick him.
Rice could be our big receiving target. I like his tape.

OL (particularly T and C), LB, DT, RB. But I'd also scout the QBs closely in case one of the top ones drops.

I’m wondering if Steele has not fully recovered from his knee injury. Can we move Bass to the LG position and kick Tyler Smith out to tackle. Draft a Centre with one of the early picks.
