Why wouldn't I? Orton's better. VY is a better athlete, but Orton's still the better QB. You might not agree, but the entire NFL does. If the Cowboys let him go, he'd be signed in a heart beat. VY got released by the Bills, and can't even get a tryout with anyone.

Not a lot out there. Tavaris Jackson is a good fit but he's supposedly headed to Seattle as WG stated. The only real problem I see is he takes someone's place on the roster. I wonder if even taking a roster spot out of the first 90 is worth it.

Otherwise it's difficult to see a huge problem with practicing against the option. It's hard to play a defense you've never practiced against. Some token guy won't work. I like the idea of putting a college QB back there though if you're going to go to the trouble of doing it.

IMO, Orton>>>VY...We haven't used a roster spot on a 3rd QB (53-man roster) in a while. I like the idea of getting someone for the PS to help with prep but I can't imagine young doing that for anyone

thus, no, the 5 reasons are not enough to bring that controversy to Dallas

VY is an example of an overhyped college QB that will never do much in the pros. His one string of good games is something like the Tebow mania. He can look decent for a while then his simple lack of ability as a Pro QB becomes clear

From my perspective, I think they need somebody as a #3 if only to get them through training camp. The two young QBs they have currently are not playing well...if going by some media tweets. And if they can't perform well enough for the Cowboys to practice efficiently on offense, then they need to bring somebody in.

It could be Young or somebody, but they clearly need somebody.

And from all reports I've read, Young seems to have had the 'light' come on as far as learning from past mistakes.

For an unguaranteed look-see? I'd have no problem with that.
