Just listening to Hangin' with the Boys. He says at 4.15 mark that it would have taken a first to land him.

Sound's very much like we were prepared to give this up.

I'm speechless!

Bobby Belt just saying on 1053 the fan that he is hearing from certain ones at the Star, that Cowboys would have likely made it a conditional 3rd rounder, that could esculate into a 2nd rd. depending
upon Cooks availability and production.

I very much hope he’s wrong about that.

But even if it was just a second round pick, it still makes the Jones boys look like idiots.

Give away Amari Cooper for nothing and then invest another premium pick on yet another big-money receiver to fill the void that THEY CREATED.

That makes more sense. But Eatman is usually spot on

Let me get this straight. We only got a 5th rounder for Cooper...and we were told that was the best you should expect because someone else was taking on his 20m cap hit....but 8 games into the season we were open to giving up a 1st day pick and take on a similar cap hit to get a WR?

It’s what it seems. I honestly don’t believe they were giving up a 1 for Cooks.

The 3rd to a conditional 2nd seems legit

and the money was the big reason Cowboys did not do it. Cooper was let go because we were over the cap leading up to the March deadline. As for getting a WR? if you need 1 go get 1 you don't hold off because the optics. James Washington hopefully will be ready after the bye

We did not have to release Cooper to get under the cap. Plenty of other things could have been done.

I also think they expected Houston to eat some of that cap. They weren't going to pay him 18 million, I HOPE.
