Eberflus is McDaniels' top choice for DC

I like Eberflus and think he's had a challenge at LB coach, they were never great. And it's not like we haven't had talent there. Specifically in pass protection the last few seasons have been bad. And he was promoted to passing game coordinator. I just wouldn't chalk him up as the next greatest thing.

He's helped develop Wilson and now Smith although Smith hasn't lived up to expectations yet......fair or not. Lee has regressed some as a cover LB although that's not unexpected at his age. He's still a top 5 (maybe 1-3) run defender. Hitchens has developed nicely as well. No one is a top cover LB mainly due to lack of speed. Wilson has the most potential there although without injury Smith would be the guy.

They need to draft at least one cover LB with 4.4-5 speed and enough cover ability to develop.

No, the team can block a move of a coach under contract unless it is from assistant to head coach.

I wouldn't even use the never gonna win thing with Jerry as the GM let alone Rod as DC.

Jerry needs to let Eberflus be the design coordinator and have Rod Marinelli be an assistant defensive coordinator for 1 year if Rod is planning to stick around 1 year. Then, Jerry puts verbiage in Eberflus contract and pays him well enough to stick in Dallas.

Agree to disagree. Wilson is the last LB I'd prop up.

Why in the world would he stay here. Even if they offered him the coordinator position now.

They have made it clear he is not wanted and McDaniels is going to empower him to run the defense.

Giants blew it by running Coughlin off. Eli had too much influence on that.

Eli has been putrid it’s not a great situation, yes the draft pick is good and there is some good young piece to build around, but I think Eli is about done.

The only shot at keeping Eberflus is Marinelli retiring. I don't know how attached he feels to that ascending unit in Dallas, but a new gig with a new HC means 4-5 years of new contract.

The water boy would be an improvement over Marinelli.
