It makes me happy when people use big words but gives me sadface when they are misused. Ad hominem is an attack against a person and ignoring their argument. It is for instance saying so and so is stupid therefore the argument is stupid. What I did was say various CJ backers are not going to hear reason and detailed where this player is ranked by virtually everyone with some reason: 5th back or so and 40th to 50th player.

The stats and facts have been laid bare about this guy for months. BTW, CJ rushed 18.15 times per game as a senior not 20 and he only did that with a 28 carry bowl game factored in. He was at 13 or so carries per game for his career. For a college back that is ridiculously low. Especially for a team like ECU that might have 2 or 3 draft-able guys on the entire squad. See Ray Rice at Rutgers. The best players usually get tons of work because they are so far superior to the other options. That got excused for Barber at Minnesota because of the other backs they had, same as Reggie Bush at USC but ECU didn't have a backfield who could provide CJ relief without losing something.

I did appreciate the Goose comeback but Goose has routinely stated he doesn't believe in these mocks and only puts one out under duress from the paper. If he says to not take it seriously then it makes it a rather weak argument of authority.

If you are merely arguing 25 to 40 than I can live with that.

Players in that range have warts. Your posts do not mention any warts and champion CJ over guys ranked 20 slots higher by virtually everyone.

Alas, we shall all see soon. The draft is near and then the season will get here.

I ranked Reggie Bush far lower than most people and will continue to rank guys who weigh 200 or less, near 6 foot tall and claim great speed as their largest caveat lower than other more natural running backs. Same reason I'd pick a Kenyan over a Sumo wrestler in a marathon. There is a long proven history of what body types succeed.

I think CJ has a place in the NFL but it as a specialist not a running back.

When you run a 4.2 and the defenses you play have no player higher than a 4.6 almost every week then you will get great stats. That doesn't mean you are a great running back and can duplicate that in the NFL. But a guy with good hands and some WR experience who is a proven KO return guy has value.

–adjective
1. appealing to one's prejudices, emotions, or special interests rather than to one's intellect or reason.

When you say that someone is insane or that he is gargling sperm you are not appealing to intellect rather to someones prejudice. It meets the definition.

Youre 'only facing 4.6' is baseless BS. He played Div 1 not Pop Warner. He played several ranked teams last year and more winning teams than losing teams. In fact at that point you could make that claim about every back in the draft. The talent level in the NCAA is lesser than in the NFL. Bravo on that observation as if it brings anything meaningful.

I said about 20. I would say 18 is about 20. Also is he did that for a whole year that shows that he is capable of doing it. That ranks favorably with guys like Mendenhall and Charles in terms of their respective careers. Is he as proven as DMac no but that doe snot mean he is not proven at all.

Ive never seen Goose say that. What i have heard him say is that the first ones are not accurate as to what will actually happen and he spelled it out in the quote i gave This one was based on BPA and that means he thinks CJ is BPA around 20.
