Ed Werder on judging the Cowboys

"The fans sense something different in the air. Rightfully so."

The key word there is "fans." This off season is proof that it's different. After 25+ years of failing his way, this fan thinks he is finally letting his coaches call the shots on hiring staff, trades and draft picks. I don't think Jerry would've traded a headline grabber like Parsons for a DT who rarely makes headlines.
WELL SAID!!

A lot of people around these parts sure hate it when the truth is told about the Cowboys under Jerry Jones. Rather than getting mad or your feelings hurt, just live in the truth. Place your anger where it belongs, at Jerry Jones, not people who tell you uncomfortable truths that you don't want to accept.

If you're a bottom line Super Bowl or bust expectation level fan, and their used to be plenty of them including me, then he's right.

BUT The 30 years of playoff ineptitude has watered my expectation level down into settling for just making an NFC Championship game now.

BUT again unfortunately it seems the team can not even reach that expectation level either.

So I guess I really am stuck with being happy about winning a practice with a genuine championship contender.

Better than nothing, right?

COWBOYS!!
They should hand out participation trophies to the cowboys
They ain’t sniffing a Lombardi with Jerry large and in charge

The stupifying thing is that 90% of what sports media does is prognosticate how players and teams are going to do, how many yards, how many catches, how many wins, and on and on and on. Who's going to get fired, who going to be the starter. Geez Ed, take a look in the mirror!

I'm old enough to remember when the Dallas Cowboys were good enough to predict they'd play in another Super Bowl after they already won some before the year that just started. Those were the days, my friend -- I wish they'd never ended . . . sigh. Then, Jerry and his son took full control. o_O
