He's speculating. The same speculation last year and yet Jerry still had the Scouting Department heavily involved. This speculation will be the same every year.RS12;1908846 said:Said look for Jerry Jones to back over control of the personnel dept now that Parcels and his people have left or are leaving. Look for slow erosion of talent. Will the boys become the 2007 version of the 2006 Bears, one and done.

Jerry as meddling owner and puppet master was a compelling story when the dynasty of the early 90's was crashing. The media spun it, the fans ate it up, and the ratings went through the roof.Chocolate Lab;1908864 said:Exactly. Werder was nicknamed the "Voice of Doom" back when we were winning everything in the 90s, so what do you expect now?
I bet he predicted we'd suck this year when Parcells left, too. Sorry, Ed.

Moron...
I don't agree. Sorry, I just don't. For 5 years Jerry has stepped away from that old role and sees the team on the pinnacle of the promised land and he's going to revert to old ways?Woods;1908881 said:I suppose the biggest concern is that JJ will revert back to his old ways.
And it is a valid concern.
That said, last year JJ did an exceptional job, IMO.
Both Davis and Hamlin are Pro-Bowlers this year. A lot of people complained that JJ overpaid for Davis, however, he got Hamlin at a good rate for 1 year.
JJ re-signed Romo to a solid contract for a franchise QB. I don't think he overpaid there by any means or ruined the cap/mortgaged our future.
The Draft was run well, too. We picked up a guy we probably would have taken at around spot 22 a few spots back and picked up an extra 1st rounder this year. That was a very good piece of work, IMO.
With respect to coaching hires, JJ took this time. Again, a lot of people were waiting for a quick result. Yet, JJ took his time, talked to quite a few people, and he hired Wade and Garrett and kept Sparano. All were good moves.
Finally, during the course of the season, JJ has continued to lock up players to build for the future. Ratliff, Crayton, etc.
I think JJ has made significant improvement as a GM since when he first bought the team. And that's what you'd expect.
I'm not as worried as I would have been 6-7 years ago when we were reaching for Q Carter, Dixon, etc.
Good post. Very good in fact.parcells316;1908894 said:Werder never lets the facts get in the way of a good story. Our core players, Ware, Romo, Witten, Barber, James, Canty etc. are all entering their prime or in their prime. Only T.O., and that's a big piece of the puzzle, is in the twilight. Although the way he takes care of himself and the season he had you could argue he has planty left in the tank.
They are the 4th youngest team in the NFL, I have a hard time seeing this thing turn into a disaster quickly. This is why I try and avoid the mainstream media and jerks like Werder after a tough defeat like Sunday's.

Of course they're going to employ the same tactic. The fact remains that since the hiring of Bill Parcells on January 2, 2003 Jerry has let his football people impact the running of the Dallas Cowboys. 5 years later the media still doesn't get it and a bunch of mouth breathers will eat it right up again and the sky will fall.
