geez people - wishing people dead is a tad much, isn't it?

It was tongue in cheek, but it did work for the Colts when old man Irsay kicked. ;)

But, you might want to check my posting history and you'd be hard pressed to find a bigger Jerry supporter. He's made some bad moves and i've been critical at times, but over all he's the best owner in sports. Not the best GM, but hey, it's his team.

it's all good. just more stuff to sift through than normal these days. : ) sorry for the over-reaction.

The main reason I don't think JJ will revert back to his old habits is simply because, IMO, he is a very smart guy.

By that I mean both business smart as well as common sense smart.

You can see how he never wants to be in cap hell again. He's stated that many, many times.

He knows his weaknesses, which are also his strengths - i.e., he's a wildcatter (sp?) and risk taker at heart, when properly channeled, is a huge strength.

We know JJ learns from his mistakes, which is one of his most positive characteristics.

This may sound like not a big deal - learning from mistakes - but look at Snyder, as an example. The team continues along the same path, so it seems, year after year after year. Still in cap hell, still overpaying for marginal talent. Sure, they made the playoffs this season, but I don't think their model is sustainable for the long or medium run.

I think what we've been doing for the past couple of years is a sustainable and winning model for the medium and long run.

He's speculating. The same speculation last year and yet Jerry still had the Scouting Department heavily involved. This speculation will be the same every year.
Speculation had the Iggles winning the NFC East in 2007

In the Werder threads during our post-Parcells coaching search, theogt had a nice line right at the top of a "Werder coming up within the hour" thread.

Exactly,

Also, we have a point system and the key coaches have a say on a player by the point system before we select a player.......but, Mr. Jones has final say but he said that they go with the player who gets the most votes from our coaches.....so it is a team effort.

Jerry is the one who put this together, he changed how Dallas would go out and find talent he put a lot of it on the scouting department with Ireland and now will put that on the new head of scouting. Parcells did not force Jerry to change how we conducted business Jerry changed because how things were being done was not working. To think that Jerry was just waiting for BP to leave so he could go backwards is ridicules

I swear, some of you Chicken Littles just never learn...
Sort of like the chicken little's who saw a month ago this team was in big trouble? I guess they were wrong and we'll be playing the Pack come Sunday.

At times I wonder how different this team would be with a real GM but then again when you look at most teams with GM's and they are no better honestly...

Jerry as meddling owner and puppet master was a compelling story when the dynasty of the early 90's was crashing. The media spun it, the fans ate it up, and the ratings went through the roof.

I wish that his awful handling of the draft and FA were just media spin, but unfortunately we could see how bad it really was.;)

A lot of teams would trade their season for a 13-3 team.

Will the boys become the 2007 version of the 2006 Bears, one and done.

Heh - We didn't even get to one. At least "that team" made it to the SB before they collapsed - Ours didn't last an entire season!
